anyone use a diet feeder solely for mixing a ration , we use a frazer three quarter tonne mixer for a rolled barley , soya , rapeseed , sugar beet TMR but find it very time consuming , wondered what it would be like to mix like 4 tonne at a time in a diet feeder
We use a Hi Spec and it does an excellent job. I think ours is only an 8cube one and you struggle to mix 4t at a time as it starts to spill it out the top and it also makes it work surprisingly hard and will break a shear bolt. 3t is about right so it would probably pay to get a bit bigger one
That's what one of the big feed companies up here uses to mix their beef blends in.
Couple of Hi specs converted to run of electric sitting side by side.
Use our kv siloking to mix barley, oats, beet pulp, protein pellets, pot ale syrup, 12 cube mixer will do 5.5 ton easy enough, trick is to start emptying it slowly before you think it's ready to come out, if you wait until it's looking done by time you get it all out it's over mixed and gone dusty.
