Mobile dipper

Please help. Would anyone know of a mobile sheep dip contractor in West Wales?
I've only a small flock of 50 so could possibly transport them to a dip facility if this is possible.

Would a flo jetter be sufficient? I know of 2 which arnt far from Sh!tland

To be honest I'm not sure. I think plunge dipping may be better.
Would a Flo jetter be effective in eliminating scab?
If yes then I would be interested.
Whitland is about 40 odd miles away, don't suppose you know of anyone nearer Llandovery?

No I'm 30-40 mile west of sh!tland so don't know anyone sorry. Both of them do a lot of jetting against scab and both reckon they can get rid of it by doing 2 treatments 14 days apart but still then it isn't guaranteed? How bad is scab this year? A lot of flocks down here are only now getting rid of scab from last years lot of hill sheep/store lambs

You need to dip to get rid of scab, don't waste your time or money trying any other method.
It's probably too far and to few for @sean m but maybe he might have a contact nearer to you?

Yes Scab is a massive problem in the area never seen it so bad the injectables won't touch it !!
Our dip was filled in years ago but might be worth the hassle of building a new one even with the competence certificate and environment agency issues.

Oh no they havnt started flooding down this far yet but it won't be long :/ can you PM me if you find anyone who's doing it mobile down our way please!

Yes absolutely.
Injectables are or I should say were a short-term fix.
Bring back compulsory dipping. ( Wouldn't have any problems finding a mobile dipper then)
Incredible to think that not a great time ago the UK was scab free!!
Since 92 the incidence of scab outbreaks has increased massively year on year.

hi i do get that way sometimes i might be over that way sometime this month. just waiting for a phone call to confirm if there are enough numbers of sheep to justify the journey.

Glad your saying this and it's just not the areas that sheep get sent to over winter that have to deal with the fall out. Do you also think compulsory needs to come back?

yes i must admit it would màke sence it bring back compulsory dipping . it would help with a lot of problems in uk flocks. The biggest problem is getting people to prevent rather than cure!

hi just to let you know the farmer i was going to over your way has decided he is just going to inject so wont be coming over sorry now uless you can pick up a few more sheep numbers then i could justify the travel over thanks
