Why not a decent smartphone? It doesnt have to be expensive. Voice activation helps at times.

Nokia 216 if the older one's are getting to expensive. Good battery life, buttons aren't bad.

my last one pre fart smart phone was one of the 'TTfones' (goggle it) was very good too.

What's up with a Doro, has your dad ever tried a touch screen, if he's not used one before he might find it difficult the "auld yins" cant find the pressure required and seem to hit the screen instead of touching, that's both mum and mnl. anyway.
The doro also has those instant call panic buttons.
