Noooooooooo! Its higly illegal,
This is why we have so much scab about now. Showers are not licensed and have never been licensed for use. It is being policed hard now and anyone caught using one is facing prosecution.

Its a big problem showers and jetters unfortunately there are alot still about. However will be less from now on as they cant buy dip for them anymore. Hopefully it will reduce the risk of resistance developing

For blowfly control, they apply as much product as dipping ever does ime. Any more than applying to run off is surely wasted anyway.
The only reason they are not effective enough to guarantee scab control is that there are patches, such as in the ears, that are not treated as they would be by immersion. That can obviously lead to resistance (although I don’t think there is any evidence of OP resistant scab, despite jetters & showers having been in use worldwide for many decades), but I wouldn’t be worried about treating for scab unless I actually had it, or I bought some sheep in that may be a risk.
As a means of blowfly control jetters are as effective as dipping ime, and both are let down by the lack of persistence of the OP dip.

Trials have shown that fleece length in showers affect the amount of time shhep would need to be in for, a sheeps fleece is designed to repel water and run off unless submerged.
The outher issue with showers is nowhere for excess wash to run off effectively, plunge dipping systems are designed to collect 100% of run off and drain back so it can be reused and protecting the environment.
I do agree with your comment of not getting into ears and eyes which could cause insufficient treatment, the main thing is no accurate testing has been done to effectively say whether it doe 100% guarantee treatment as you dont know how much product is being applied when showering or jetting.
With no testing done there is no guidelines of dilution rates when using theses two methods and this is the worrying part of sheep getting underdosed of overdosed as a result.
