Mobile slurry separator

I thought about it.. Buying one.
The type of output required to make money contracting cost huge money. Those single pump affairs are just too slow. By the time you would have the slurry separated it would be lashing rain and you would be chased out of the place. You need the multiple pumps and huge generator. There is one on YouTube. I think there are ten screw presses.. On a truck. Anything less is just not quick enough to contract with. A single is OK mounted on a wall working for a few hours every day but only farmer owned

I’ve been thinking of a roller screen type using a barrel feeder, old Keenan etc..
Something that could separate on a massive scale,@Kingofgrass weren't you going to make one.
I’m thinking 5screw presses at first pto driven with a long hydraulic stacking conveyor, get it all working right and add more screw presses after.these separators are way too overpriced, loads of firms out there that will make the augers, wedge wire filter case, and there’s a brilliant firm just down the road that will profile cut anything you want.

Your on the right wavelength, why run a generator to then run a screw press? it doesn’t make sense.

Just adds to the cost,my tractor you can set the rpm on it to very slow,or buy a cheap old tractor use f all fuel and doesn’t matter to much about putting hours on it

Bauer do what we call a “plug and play” unit which includes a packaged system with feed pump, effluent pump and control system which can be trailer mounted to make it mobile. Depending on separator size this will do up to 200 / 250 cows per hour. This is dependent on slurry consistency though.

We can also provide packed trailer units with multiple machines to expand the possibilities.

If you want to know more send me an email address and I’ll give you some more info.

Cheers

Is there anyone running a mobile separator in the north of England?

I know someone set up in NI.

I could do with someone to come here for a week a take a bit of solid out.

how much would it be worth/m3 of slurry handled or tonne of solid seperated to do? I wouldn’t have a clue but imagine there would be a market for someone with a artic lorry with a nurse tank and bank of several separators run by a diesel generator this year for sure.

Would almost need 2 lagoons think nurse tanking whilst having a umbilical contractor spread would involve a lot of expensive waiting around. Guess could just chuck a suction pipe in lagoon and return back to the same lagoon and if it rehandles the same slurry it’s just one of the those things?!?

Would this be the sort of thing you were thinking about ?

There are a number of systems like this working in Europe which we have supplied separators for, its quite some investment, but then everybody thought 12m dribble bars were a pipe dream not very long ago !!

the noise it all makes is very pleasant to listen to with a Bluetooth headset…….. now have bleeding ear drums, looks a good job!

I’ve gone off the idea since doing my sums,I’d prefer to build a weeping wall store, cover it and have it long and narrow with access either side so I could tip fym over the sides in effect squashing the liquid out, farming at the top of a hill means I could do it all with gravity, the running costs for a separator are only going to go one way.

I like this idea for the weeping wall.

Curious, what do the farmers do with the effluent. Do they have a 2nd lagoon. Do they treat the effluent to get clean water?

some separate back into the opposite end of the underfloor tanks, but ideally a separate lagoon for liquor. There are treatment systems to recover up to 70% of liquid as potable water, currently, there is one being installed in Ireland soon to be operational.

I have a daritech dtx 2014 does a good job but slow mines been modified a bit but running cost been low 2 screens made localy 2 dodge bearings and 1 pump replaced wore it out done 12,000 hrs total upkeep been about 9k pump was 6k of that slurry is fantastic to spred through bribble takes contractor a day less compared to before to spread with cord grass growth is better and slurry does not dry in lines 👍

Hi , is this machine working in Ireland yet. Any possible of a mobile unit.

Let's check my understanding.

A separator processes each unit of slurry faster if the DM of the slurry is lower. If the DM is 5% rather then 20% how close to 4 time faster is the running rate?

If the input DM is 20%, and the output liquid DM is 1% then with a 1000 unit slurry store once 1000 units of slurry have been processed var a separator that is putting the outout liquid back in the store then the slurry will have DM of about 10%. Run 1000 units of slurry var the separate again then the tank will have a DM of about 6%.

If the above is correct a tracker powered rental unit (generator on PTO or direct drive), provided the solid discharged system is high enough, could be left running for a few days. Hence resulting in the slurry store containing low DM, very will mixed, easy to spread slurry.

So why can't a spreading contractor do this with a separater that is delivered to the customer a week before spreading? Is the level of TLC and adjustment a separate needs as the input DM charges the problem?

(However it's well known more DM is removed by a separator if the slurry is processed when fresh.)
