More cash for CS, but where is SFI now?

So the money is being allocated to CS schemes, but no mention of SFI... Is it going to die a quiet death?

The reaction of the NT to "their" support funding drying up was telling!

Good to see that land in the photo being worked properly (y) .

Add that to the £5k going to existing pilots and it's a fair bet that most of the money currently being spent on SFI, is a bribe to take part in the SFI. Public money for public goods, innit.
I think iv read it right there is no increase for those already recieving the £5k.
Wish they could of posted a list of the capital items that are having values changed on.

That's a big help with fencing costs
Bear in mind the increased capital payment rates only apply to applications made from today. So any CSS applications that started on 1st Jan 22 or 1st Jan 23 do not benefit. Seems very unfair considering the costs of capital works have already massively increased due to inflation and the RPA would have undoubtedly based the new rates on today's costs.

If you’ve applied to do something that needs doing then you should be grateful for some money towards it, if you’ve applied for something just because there’s “free money” to pay for it & then found the cost has gone up then either don’t do it or accept that you’ve got to chip in too!

The new revenue rates will be introduced for all new and existing Mid Tier and Higher Tier Countryside Stewardship agreements from 1 January 2023

Our new agreement starts 1/1/23 so should be applying to it.

This ^^ new rates should apply for claims submitted over the last six months and claims pending or yet to be claimed in my opinion, very hard on some otherwise.

We signed the form accepting the offered rates.
Just tough shite the way prices have gone the last 12 months.

As @Wesley says it`s a canny deal to get £4.90 / m towards the cost of fencing that needed doing anyway
On our current scheme we have 4 owl boxes @ £100 each. The new rate is £38 ?? You win some , you loose some :scratchhead:

I am looking at renewing mid tier CSS and considering SFI. Does anyone know if land used for rotational CSS options such as AB9 (winter bird food) qualifies for SFI. I get that any land that is in a permanent option will not qualify,( no double funding) but if you are say rotating 10 ha AB9 around the farm over the 5 year CSS scheme does that disqualify 50 ha from SFI over that 5 year period or the 3 year SFI period or not at all ? :scratchhead:
