The same farm that the last lot of roe venison came from planted early so the crops are about knee height and the deer have been trampling, breeding down and eating it quite heavily. I managed to get some time yesterday evening to stalk so headed down. 2 roe were skylined offering no safe shot, found 1 roe buck working the hedge but not in season so got to about 50yd then waited for him to head off. He joined a group of 4 or 5 where 1 doe was but unfortunately just over the boundry so had to leave them to it.

Spotted a tell tale white rump in the crop which then disappeared, oh its played down over there somewhere I thought so headed down and let a squeak off on my caller to get it to stand. A doe, perfect. Took that and then the dependant that was with it stood, which I hadn't seen in the crop where it was smaller. Managed a safe shot on that as well so as not to leave it to starve.

That's 2 more deer off and into the fridge and plenty of venison to try some new recipes out

All butchered and packed, one leg kept bone in with the shank off for me to smoke at some point, one bag of dice mixed with curry powder, onion garlic and yoghurt for a curry tonight and the rest diced for either mincing at a later date or more meals needing dice
