Made a discovery in a trunk in the garage. Find it fascinating reading old newspapers. Some interesting adverts too!

I found a 100 year old paper stuck behind the lath and plaster in the Atholl Palace Hotel when I was digging a swimming pool back in the days when I worked for a plant hire firm. It was an interesting read, outside sheet was a bit faded, rest of it was perfect.

A year ago, about the 20th.. Blizzards and drifting here, most years get hard frosts into may.

We had about 2 inches of snow lying on teh morning my nephew was born - 14th May 1993. There were heavy snowfalls across the UK in mid-April 1981 . It checked milk production noticeably , in what most unfortunately became the base year for milk quotas.

snowed here on the 9th may 1989
was trying to mover a static caravan onto the farm to live in while we built our house
towed it 4 mile up the road no problem
Turned into the farm and the stub axle snapped off
Took another 2 days to get it where we wanted in blizzarding snow
