Most reliable 120-150hp tractor?

Might the op not have sorted the gremlins? I cannot see buying an older machine will be any less grief. anything might breakdown unless standing in the shed. Most half decent tractors between 10 and 20 years old will be fairly electrical albeit not on the engine control side necessarily. Our 23 year old 8340 is awash with heath-robinson wires under the cab.
Did new Holland do a big recall on some of the 8340 series in 1992

Front suspension and 50k, to this day the fastest tractor I have ever driven on the road
No front suspension, 250hp and went 64km/h. The scariest tractor i've ever driven. Good old 8550.

If you can find a 8950 Hi-Tech you'll never have to worry about losing money. Any peat contractor in Finland will buy it off of you, if it has the Hd rear end it's capable of over 300 horses.

Electronics necessarily aren't all bad.

We had two MF tractors which had linkages problems. On the MF3645 it did take a while to work out what the problem was, with the linkage computer visiting David King etc. but after going on gut instinct and replacing a dodgy looking position sensor it was fine. The flex shaft on the MF2680 broke, pretty obvious where the main fault was and for a mechanic to fix, but when it broke I suspect that it damaged the internal mechanical control linkages and its draft control was never the same afterwards.

I have a love/hate relationship with electronic engine control, but linkage control is a different matter.

You know it makes sense....(y)
I fancied updating to newer 6400 MF's. Our local indy MF mechanic suggested otherwise. How glad am I that I listened to him :woot:

New Zetor forterra HSX? Can be had now with cab and axle suspension and eco 40k box. Still fairly basic tractors but buy new and have the comfort of warranty.
The most unreliable tractor that's ever been on this farm. Now sold for a Kubota. 2 gear box issues on an 800hr tractor that took 4 months and £8k to get sorted. Countless other constant problems in the 5 years it was here. I would advise anyone considering a zetor to completely abandon the idea.
