Hi and thanks in advance. I have a vicon side mount 632T mower conditioner and some of the hubs are loose the bearings are starting to go I was intending to replace the bearing and refit the hub to the bed but I have been advised not to do this as it won't be a success does anyone have any experience of this as I can't understand why it wouldn't work if I put the same make quality of bearing in.
Regards Colin

In my experience the shaft will be worn and not a tight fit in the new bearing the last one I did it was cheaper to buy the complete unit and bolt straight in rather than buying the parts to repair the old one.

A friend did this on a kv mower last year, did 2 on his and it was cheap. But, he only got 2 laps round the first field and the bed had seized up. Once he got it off all the teeth on them stations had shredded them selves and wrote the bed off. Was cheaper to put 2 new stations in than the expense of a new mower.

Thanks lads that's just a confirmation of what my mate told me 2 laps of the first field then bang.

on earlier models, if you took the 4 bolts out and removed the disc, under that is a hub that fits on the shaft with a roll pin through it, thought the newer ones were the same?
