I'm going to spend about 4k
Want the independence
One dry day a week in Ulster and every chaps at grass!
Don't like JD and kuhn too dear.

cant see a tarrup at that money, people love then like the jd/kuhn. i prefer the krone for ground following is better i think, used to drive a 9 ft happy with 100hp averaging 4-5 acres an hour done to 3 if hills but was only 100hp, so no records could be broke both was well matched.

Taarup 4032 if you can find a good 1. Last of them will be 7 or 8 years old now but they're are the best mower I've used. Perfect sward for baling and spreader vanes leave an even, full width, fluffed up spread to speed drying and save a pass with a tedder. Not keen on JD or Kuhn although plenty of people think there's nothing like them

I just got a fella mounted 10ft moco and its very well made and does a very good job had a tarrup before that that was shite and made out of cheese

Just my opinion but i think you are making a mistake ruling out the JD/Kuhn mowers, solid mowers and always in demand second hand.

Cost of ownership will be lower than many of the other makes i would think.

I would agree that the Kuhn is a very solid mower, I've also heard lots of good reports about the Pottinger mowers,Novacats I think they call them..

Got to love the trailed Novacat 307 T Ed collector that we have. Done about 3000 hectares, never had any problems. Just need to replace the bearings of the conditioner (just because they are cheap to replace, fix before they break up) and keep the parts greased.

Original parts cost very much, but i think that it is partly due to the dealer. Also they have no parts on the shop, they must be ordered and it takes two days for them to arrive. Jd dealer has all the parts in stock, so we might trade in the Pöttinger for a Jd, just to be sure.

Been looking at a claas 3000 tc, no-one has mentioned them.
Is that good or bad.

Okay kuhn is good mower but over priced for my jod
T he class trailed mower are a very good mower , I had them before I got a kv4032 , the class was a far better mower , floated the ground far better , the bed is pulled compared to the tarrup / Kuhn/ JD which are pushed , if you hit something solid the class will survive where the others won't . If I was buying a trailed mower class would be top of the list , a lot cheaper to run than JD or Kuhn .

When I last changed mine the claas dealer did everything to steer me away from the trailed mower just wanted to sell the mounted one. Anyone I spoke to with a trailed one put me off them.
I went from a trailed kuhn to a kv 4332 and it's so much better in every way - nothing has broken either unlike the kuhn.
