Depends if you want any barley left to go in your trailers or bales .Most will end up on floor .Use a straight disc mower. Can I cut my barley wholecrop with a conditioner on my jf mower?
Heard of someone doing that, the barley stayed in the field. Can I cut my barley wholecrop with a conditioner on my jf mower?
Can do it with a rotor rake just have to keep the revs as low as possible, last time I did any had the ford 7810 on the rake engine speed at 1050 in 540 speed rotors lifted as high as possible too to avoid stonesAn Acrobat type that rolls the swath over will be kinder than a rake rotor which will bash the grain out as above.

What's the side knife for, killing 2 birds and doing the hedges?
Love the look of that with the side knife! Sod HSE
This is how we do it.
Always used' home n dry' ,
But can't afford the expense this time.
Probably cut it greener with an additive, undersown with grass this time for EFA.
It's the magic ingredient (eurase) that takes some getting hold of.Urea is pretty cheap. Would that do it? I used to do that with grain harvested for crimping to preserve it.
