Mowing with a flail topper.

I've got half an acre to cut which I could take a crop off. Don't have a mower and hardly much point getting a contractor in to mow it.

Would it be ok if I cut it with a a flail topper? It would give it a good conditioning at the same time? Or would I end up with a mess?

used to cut silage with a kidd double chop, opened the auger cover and blew it out the back. left a 4" stubble the picked it up with the same machine cutting it again to leave a 1-2" stubble. made good silage.

will be a pita to rake up and bale
Was no problem for one of these . But the contractor used to curse a bit with his Jones baler
