Did anyone catch the big article on Alistair Mackintosh in FG? Must admit I’ve been busy so I didn’t see it til now but wow. Just wow.
Apparently there will now be no vote of No Confidence in Mr Moseley because everyone realises the top team are a “fantastic group of people”
He is ‘quite frustrated’ that we farmers don’t understand just what a fab job the top team are doing.
Far from being frustrated at the lack of premiums for (often compulsory) RT membership, Mr Mackintosh believes he’s getting more than his money’s worth- receiving the cost back 10- times over (
??????)
…Beef and lamb is a difficult sector to get on board with the RT project because a lot of us “just do not get it” (FFS)
what I probably find most worrying is the bit near the end suggesting a return of GFC to the table.
All in all, this is looking very worrying from the new chair at RT. Far from a clean sweep and new ideas it rather looks like one step forward and two back. Management have done the bare minimum to head off the immediate looming threat of a no-confidence vote and is settling down to business-as-usual.
And still no word on the how the 2nd RT review will garner farmers opinions (except at some of the bigger summer shows, which unfortunately I haven’t been able to get to).
It’s looking like RT is utterly confident it won’t be knocked off its perch if it’s wheeling this (charming chap) out to tell us off and tell us that we’re wrong.
More radical action may need to be planned perhaps.
