Hi new to the forum but lurker of old and year 2 of dd in a small way.
Large amounts of muck to use, but how?
spray drill muck roll/light harrow
muck drill harrow roll spray post emergence
This year mucked post emergence but still lumps on the ground(broiler muck) so bit concerned by contamination.
TIA

Trial on SB has left several lumps about, the idea is to use no artificial fert just broiler muck but multiple applications may cause too much crop damage?

I would have thought you would need a very high carbon material to add the chicken muck to make compost. I have trouble composting cattle muck and that has much less nitrogen in. Horse muck is perfect for composting. Seems to have the right c to n ratio. Livestock farmers are not so generous with the straw. I'm going to spread compost and then the chicken muck on top as I think this will be the easiest way to mix it together to make a more soil friendly product.

I spread muck pre drill.

If you use too muck chicken muck you can run into problems with BL weeds as it contains a lot of potassium. If your levels are already high it would be easy to sell for 4 or 5 quid a tonne.
