Muck pad effluent storage

We're currently upgrading our muck pad area. Does anyone know how to or know of a calculator to work out how big run off tank would need to be. Current tank is historic and needs replacing but wasn't big enough to start with.

Area times 6 months rainfall unless you allowed to spread over winter or transfer some to another tank.
10mx20m pad around 120m3 over 6 months or 24000 gallons.

A roof can be cheaper then needing the larger tank. I don't know if there are still grants for roofs over muck pads and sillage pads.

Plus having a roof improves the quality of the muck as well...
And you can use it for other things when it's not got muck in it...
