Hello again Ladies and Gents,

As promised here are some examples of wheat crops drilled by the Pro Till.

This time the pics are from one of our farms on the Essex and Suffolk border just south of Sudbury.
The farm is a nice heavyish clay loam. Wish we had more of this!!
We Flatlifted this whole block (139 acres) this year because we could still see where the combine had been from a couple of wet harvests.

All relay wheat drilled at different times. Some first and some second wheats.
No fert drilled with these.
All residues chopped.

First up, First wheat behind rape.
Drilled 10th September (yes I know that's early but we have no black grass on this field)
Seed rate 125kg/ha
Looked good from the get go!

Next up some second wheat
Drilled 27th Sept
Seed rate 162 kg/ha

And lastly some more second wheat.
Drilled a little later on the 9/10th October
Seed rate 175kg/ha

All crops look to be doing very well! I do wonder what is going to happen to the first field in case we get a good frost without snow cover? Would be interesting to graze a little part with sheep to see how it reacts?

Also interesting to read the field was subsoiled prior to remove wheelings. Have not done this in a similar situation (Claydon drilled) and can see the tracks now. Hopefully the roots and worms will subsoil for us. Had the same issue (worse really as no straw taken off this year) last year and in the end the yield didn't seem to be any lower. In fact the field was the highest yielding.

Heres ours after a very kind demo from muzuri, second wheat jb deigo sown @160kg/ha on the 23/09/14 drilled in the middle of our normal drilling seemed slow to get going but growing well!

Haha, very good Will! Your crops certainly look well, as do our beans that you demo'ed for us. Not sure if I'll be at LAMMA or not but I hope you have a good show.
