Seriously? you have such blind faith in Tim Martin's knowledge of WTO terms? this kind of devotion, it's almost Corbynista cult-like

Asking Tim Martin about WTO is a bit like asking Donald Trump about it. It's amazing that folk who say they are keen to protect a British way of life would follow the advice of a bloke who has single handedly done more to destroy it, with his tacky plastic drinking holes.

Interesting percentages so far

45.5% are of the same opinion as the fella that use to run the WTO
54.5% believe that Esther McVey knows best

for those of you who haven't seen it, here's the video that Esther McVey recently launched with the snazzy title "Get 2 Know WTO"

I love the presenting style, it's almost like she's presenting Jackanory

as you were

WTF, who was that aimed at? I think you maybe insulting Jackanory viewers. :banghead: (is it still on?)

I strongly suspect that Esther doesn't have a clue and was simply repeating what the Director was telling her to say.

I also suspect that not only was she repeating his words, she also inadvertently repeated the manner in which the Director was talking to her

If I were a pub landlord with a national span, catering for those with lower incomes, I would be glad to be able to access meat from far flung places if it was cheaper and I would be glad of a poorer population.... they will spend money in my pub and my costs will be lower.

That is how Tim Martin works, so long as the food he serves don't give you food poisoning within 24 hours, anything goes. It has been a very profitable formula for him over this last decade of austerity.

Yes... but not great for British farming. That is why I was puzzled why people on here seem to support his views whole heartedly (and completely ignore what consultants are saying in terms of a no deal). He thinks it will be good for business but I expect poundland think it will be good for business too... As far as I can see, there is no commitment from them to support British agriculture.

MacDonalds' commitment to organic milk contracts is an interesting one. I wonder what will happen to the organic milk pool in the event of a no deal or hard Brexit. It sounds fantastic what they are doing but it is also a neat way to recruit aligned suppliers who may not have any other contract options in 12 months time... I may be overthinking.

People see him as a successful businessman which he is in purely economic terms. And just like some supermarkets, so long as there are still plenty of desperate suppliers in the world and low paid staff prepared to finance his success it will continue. At present if a price is driven down so low that a supplier goes bankrupt or staff walkout due to poor working practices or low wages, their will always be a hundred more waiting to take their place.:banghead:

We were not asked if we wanted to stay in the EU for 45 years ?

We were FORCED into closer integration by John Major, Tony Blair and David Cameron.

We were not even TOLD what that closer integration means.

We were LIED to about the levels of immigration when Tony Blair FORCED the doors open wide and ignored the FACT Germany & France took preventative action so as not to be swamped.

We are YET to see if we are allowed to Leave.

We don't live in a Democracy .. you're coming from a stand point that does not exist.

This should be on the Politics section .. it's little more than propaganda and slight of hand.

The WTO has stated YEARS ago that the UK can move into the WTO system with no problems and will retain most of the tariffs.

It's on YouTube by the head of the WTO .. interviewed by Channel 4.

A good deal is preferrrable but given the politics of the current BAD deal it's best we Leave with no deal.

Totally agree, just like Brexit! Don't think it's working for him, seems to be going the wrong way!
' Proffesionals, or the bloke who looks like the bloke on Fraggle Rock' Not very professional if you want an unbiased result, is BH an MP, seems to have their morals!

Ah yes, a farmer criticising a man operating his own business, successfully I might add, and within the law. That you do not shop there is your prerogative, don't criticise a man for making a shilling, fulfilling consumer demand and employing some folk. What the hell is wrong with you?
