I was talking to a NT tenant today who farms in the area. he was at his wits end with them.
The farm buildings (NT responsibility) are in disrepair, he said that the amount of rood covering gets less every year, yet they won't spend any money. The trees fall down everywhere (NT responsibility) but they do nothing about clearing anything up even when they fall on the fences.
They have reduced his stocking density and now the fields are full of Ant hills and he can no longer top it so is full of thistles.
Are other areas of the country any better for being a tenant of NT?

He is desperately hoping he gets a deal similar to @Charlie Flindt
Sounds similar to our lot here Cheshire/Derbyshire. Constantly on the scrounge but not investing in anything they already have.

250,000 hectares with 1300 tenant farmers who would be getting bps previously not the NT. The NT would likely be css payment recipient which will likely dwarf any agricultural subsidy as it would mostly be HLS qualified. They NT and NE consider themselves “friends and partners.”

Going forward they are taking land back in hand wholesale and ousting farming interests to maximise environmental payment often betraying the heritage and historic land usage that they were largely gifted. Economics over ethics somewhat at odds with their charity status? Lose the farmer and let the house ideally as a holiday accommodation.
So the “no help for farmers” thread title is something of a double whammy for modern NT farm tenants they don’t want you they want underpaid park keepers.

Just listening to a bit about Matt Baker on the radio this morning while feeding up. He was talking an utter load of bilge about the upcoming TV series he is hosting about our favourite (ex) landlords who are making a cheap crap series letting one of their treasured farms. He has gone right to the bottom of the ladder in my opinion. Do people really believe this media hype crap?
I think sadly the answer is yes. God help us!
