Natural England Legal Land Theft

Has anyone else been notified that Natural England intend to place their land in SSSI ? This feels like legal theft to have to beg permission to farm our own land, any ideas how to fight it?
Do you own the land or tenant it? Are you in South West England? Does the NT have any interest? Do you have any history with css, HLS ,NE etc. Tell us a bit more on here or by pm if you prefer.
Don't be intimidated .

They wanted to do a newt survey on 28 acres next to an sssi.
And a similar area on the hillside of 2 other farmers.
The second word of the joint reply was 'off'
There is absolutely no shortage of greater crested newts in this country. A large builder told me that they were required to carry out a survey and move any they found. There were supposed to be 200. They moved 2000.

Locally Natural England have given permission for beavers to be kept on a supposedly fenced area of National Trust land. Animals escape from fenced land of course and we have grey squirrels and mink as a result. Beavers cause flooding and damage trees. I have asked Natural England about damages as I have trees on my land. They explain that around 250 people have been trained to work with beavers. It's necessary tohave training before you can do anything with them. They're a protected species.

Public bodies are the most unaccountable of all. The Post Office scandal is only a recent example of a multitude of similar behaviour by a public body. The trouble is lawyers are so expensive that protection under the law simply doesn't exist. Public bodies use our own money taken via the tax system to defend their illegal behaviour.

It appears you can’t afford or rely on lawyers to fight your corner just a competent TV crew making a documentary, just ask Mr Bates.

I thought that one of the outcomes of the review that was recently published re NE's actions on Dartmoor was for them to wind their necks in and set up a proper dialogue with farmers etc. rather than just dictating. Seems they have not interpreted the recommendations of the review in the same way or in any way.

Its far worse than that. Solicitors are now beyond the law, with so many Judges now being made up from solicitors and non willing to act against their fellow professionals you would think your next stop for justice would be your MP but no he is also toothless as he is also a solicitor determined to keep his professional job as he loses his seat at the general election. Definetly looks like a TV crew is the only route left for real justice.

i would go in at the base, how do they justify farm land being suddenly renamed as a sssi. a site of special scientific interest.

what is of special i.e. not common, scientific interest about your land. don't go legal go with questions you want them to show you. set a reasonable time line for response say a week, and push for answers. for them to provide detailed information and go from there, you're looking for them to give you an opening to fight it, if they cannot say why its special and for scientific necessity, they need the land protected, it may undermine their ability to claim it as such. if you do try to fight later.

if they provide one then ask if any other areas are of similar importance, if they list them ask why your is different to them?
if they replay it's not, then you have a possible angle of attack.

fighting them from what i read on the forum is hard, so you need an edge if you have any hope of winning if you fight.

the first question is your best chance so wording it correctly is key.
what about your site makes it a sssi what other sites are designated for the same reason they are designating your site, the size of areas already in sssi for the same reasons etc etc.
