Navara Trouble

A friend of mine has a 2008 Nissan Navara with 180000 miles on it.
Up until recently it's been running perfectly but it's started playing up now.
It started off cutting out when pulling up at junctions and in traffic but would wind over and then start again and be ok for a while. Now it's started holding back and not revving properly. It's not coming up with any fault codes or engine lights. It's had a new fuel filter but made no difference.
Has anybody had similar happen or have any ideas what to try next?
Thank you for your help.

Mine did that a few months ago. No warning lights like you say. I too thought it was fuel filters but turned out it was just an accelerator pedal problem. Think Polish guy at local garage just lubricated it. Said it if it happened again would probably need a new pedal at around £400 but been fine ever since.

08 plate and first problem I've ever had with it.

Def fuel problem, change all fuel filters first, then some fuel cleaner and a good thrash.... If that doesn't cure it, get it to a good garage

Mine did similar, it would just die at a junction or in traffic, but would always start up straight away. It was something to do with the injector pump.

Id guess it has got one as near enough all the diesels had one from standard at 58 plate. I worked for a firm and they had them and they was all 08 and 58 plate motors.

Had similar on a Pathfinder. If it was idling eg at traffic lights it wouldn't rev up much when you pulled away (sort of "limp home mode", but without the fault codes), but if turned off then restarted it would be ok. Nissan wanted to randomly replace expensive parts with £'000 tags. Took it to a diesel engine specialist who located a dodgy solenoid on the fuel pump, had the right part on the shelf, & fitted it for less than £300.
