Has anyone had any experience with the Navara V6?
I am looking to replace my aging Discovery, and my Wife's Volvo estate for a new/ nearly new pickup, as I can use the farm land rover for a runabout and we could do with more space for the growing family.
I have test driven most of them,
The Hilux felt very agricultural, with a loud, course engine and unacceptable ride comfort.
The D Max was better in all respects, but still a bit on the workman like.
The Amarok has been written off as unaffordable, you can get them for the same price as the others, but with 40k miles on the clock!
I then took out a Navara which was at the Isuzu garage, and the difference was night and day to the other two. It was actually comfortable to be in, and the interior felt car like, with decent quality switch gear and comfortable seats, and that silky smooth V6 engine was a delight compared to anything else.
Brand new the V6 is the dearest at about £35k!, but they seem to depreciate like a stone to start with, and a year old one with less than 10k miles on the clock can be picked up for £21k.
BUT, what concerns me a bit is fuel economy and reliablilty of this somewhat rare machine, and why do they depreciate so heavily?
I realise the other two would probably be better workhorses and stand up better to jumping in and out with wellies on, but this vehicle will predominantly be ferrying kids and towing a flatbed with not a massive load on.
Any points of view good or bad?
