Hi got an old grain bucket we use for rough work stone soil muck etc anyway unfortunately it's been a little neglected and the wear strip bucket edge is non existent and also the front of the bucket is badly worn so I ve chopped 8 inches of the floor away and replaced with thick steel but now I need to weld a new edge on it .I have a 6 inch wide proper bucket edge my main question is what amount of leading edge would you stick out of the front of the bucket being as it 6 inches wide I thought a 3 inch out the front would be good which gives me the 3 inch to play with on the floor. Thanks for reading any positive comments gratefully received.

6" edge should be 20mm or 25mm thick, usually 1/3 stick out so 2" on anything I fit then use the off cut cut in half as heel plates at the rear of the bucket to ensure its level.
