New cat d series forklifts

We are looking at upgrading our 407c forklifts for 408ds or 357ds. We don’t want anything other than cat before you start! Has anyone used a new cat in vain and can tell us if they have sorted the overheating transmissions in the previous c series machines buy increasing air flow and reposition hydraulic oil rad. The new machines have touque lock up which should help considerably to reduce slip in the touque converter thus keeping oil cooler for a start.

So who makes this model for them these days? Maybe a good machine but funny how they sell less and less TH in the UK.

Got a 407 here, not a bad machine at all, mines been reliable in the whole, never had any heating issues unless you drag a load of bales up some long hills which i don,t much, if the buzzer does come on it soon cools down if you let it tick over for a few minutes. 9000 hrs and no oil leaks underneath, that tells you something. I can,t work out why they don,t sell more, no dealers around here anymore which is a shame but i would have another one because i feel jcb are getting to expensive.

I think you have answered your own question about the lack of Cat telehandlers about - no substantialy sized dealers = no back up and therefore no sales.?

I think finning want to control everything.after my experience with them I’d never have anything to do with them again

I understand that, but why? John deere have done similar taking the franchise away from smaller dealers.

I think it's to do with available resources available from the dealer. Who was the Cat telehandler dealer for you?

Frank sutton, Raglan. I think Pallisers sold them as well who are closer.
