New cubicle sheds

Evening all,

Finally finished the design and detailing of a cubicle shed and cubicle shed with parlour. Now who wouldn't want a new shed like this?

The double span building is cubicle housing in the large span and parlour in the small span.

The single span building is just cubicle housing but is built on a slope so the floor falls and the columns vary in length to suit this. They went for a 2 level roof for ease of construction.

Thanks
Phil

Unfortunatley not, we were not undertaking the site work on this project. (n)

Pity. Would having the parlour to one side not hamper the ventilation to the main cubicule building? Also is the roof pitch 12.5 deg as thought a steeper angles are all the rage now.

Looking at the possibility of putting up a 150 cow (may go to 200 cows in the future) cubicle building and parlour hence all the questions.

Regarding your comment for steeper roofs, is someone able to tell me who is making this recommendation?
I've heard it a number of times over the last 3 months, where recommendation is for a 22 degree roof pitch.

This high pitch is being recommended for buildings which are already high to the eaves and open sided, with overhangs.

There's never mention of the ridge design, which is critical for airflow.
The vented capping offers little ventilation, compared to an open or open-protected ridge.

I've even heard it suggested that too high a peak, without sufficient ridge ventilation, causes the air to re-condense and fall back into the building.
You can imagine how useful that is!

I'd be grateful of a contact, so I can clarify this information. It's confusing for both customers and contractors alike.

Thanks Durt, nice to see someone talking sense.

I'm told the request for 22 degree roofs is coming from some dairy consultants.
I'd like to know who...
