Oh no!!

When i spoke to him a month ago he was looking at 8000l average. I said the problem with that is with a robot there will be plenty of 10k plus cows in that average and then you need to work out how to feed those high yields on a lower input system and getting those cows to eat the volume of grass required is what can cause problems like DA's ect. I doubt wether he would have found better value for money than some dutch heifers as long as he went for a sturdy cow, maybe even a fleck/monty/norwegian red cross bred.
Not sure how Trewithen contract works but i suggested he might be better to start May/June just as the negative seasonality is out the way. nothing worse i'd imagine than starting and getting hammered to death on minus pppence then hit the ground running in July on.

I think we have been in touch with different brothers, I couldn't agree more that a Dutch breeding would work very well. All very new to them, but they will get there. I know brown Swiss have been on the cards, but currently robot sat on pallet until Tb allows them to go forward.

We looked at Trewithin contract recently they are based on this dam basket price, I hate it a business can't stick it's head out and give its own price, very similar to old milk link contract, with A &B.

Dad was tempted to buy and claim off the insurance saying the apprentice had rolled it.

Sheds full of sucker cows and calves and lots if stores that can't be sold in the way. Also defra won't allow purchase on, tb test failed of pre movement.

Could of been more. My 8ton trailer was over half full.

No been trying on and of for 12 or 13 years, in the end I think they got fed up seeing me at interview every 12 months
