thinking that next spring we might be looking to put up a building to use as a hay/straw storage one half and a riding arena In the back half.
How much more expensive would it be to go from 60ft clear span to 80ft?
Would be aiming for 120ft long
Near Swansea.

Be interesting to hear the replies to this thread. I’ve often wondered if there is an optimum width for sheds to be in terms of price of the steel work.

I suppose for the question of these two widths in particular your increasing the covered area by a third but you also need heavier legs and as well as an extra 20ft of rafter the “origional” 60ft worth of steel needs to be proportionally heavier too and more expensive.

Less side cladding though as opposed to putting an extra shed up in the future.

Thanks for yours reply. I’m hoping if we make it wide enough I’ll never regret the extra money. We can always add on another few bays if finance allows in the future!
