New Holland Explains Important Role of Biomethane in its Vision
of a Sustainable Future for Agriculture

· New Holland reaches wide audience at Expo Milano 2015 with its vision for sustainable agriculture

· New Holland’s Methane Power tractor and the role of biomethane in sustainable agriculture

· New Holland’s commitment “for healthy, safe and nutritious food for all”: the Charter of Milan, legacy of Expo 2015

New Holland has a long history of researching and promoting the role of agricultural mechanization within a sustainable future for agriculture, through precision farming, equipment supporting conservation agriculture, training in sustainable farming practices, and alternative energy sources. This year the brand is taking its message of sustainability to new audiences at the Expo Milano 2015, progressing the development of its methane powered tractor prototype and formalizing its commitment to stepping up its contribution to feed the growing world population.

“Since launching our Clean Energy Leader strategy in 2006 we have been very active in promoting our views on sustainable agriculture,” commented Carlo Lambro, Brand President New Holland Agriculture. “Our presence at Expo Milano 2015 enables us to take this to a whole new level, providing us with the perfect platform to reach an exceptionally wide audience with our vision of how we can contribute to a future where the production of quality food, clean energy and profitability are all part of a virtuous cycle, as shown by our Energy Independent Farm concept.”

New Holland reaches wide audience with its vision for a future of sustainable agriculture

The brand’s vision of agriculture, presented as an immersive and interactive experience at its Sustainable Farm Pavilion at the Expo Milano 2015, is proving to be a huge attraction. With more than 100,000 visitors in just over a month since opening, New Holland’s message of sustainability is reaching a very diverse public of all ages from around the world, as well as many dealers and customers coming from all over Europe. Future generations are also learning about agriculture and the importance of mechanization in the food supply chain, as many schools are visiting the Sustainable Farm Pavilion.

Among the sustainable agriculture principles explained in the Pavilion is the importance of preserving soil quality and nutrients. New Holland invited leading agricultural tyre manufacturer and long time partner Michelin to collaborate in presenting practices that minimize the adverse effects of compaction on soil and crops. Michelin provided all the tyres mounted on the New Holland machines on display at the Sustainable Farm Pavilion: the T6 Methane Power and T7.270 series tractors, the CR 9.90 combine harvester and Braud 9060L grape harvester.

New Holland’s Methane Power tractor and the role of biomethane in sustainable agriculture

The new generation of alternative energy sources is central to New Holland’s Energy Independent Farm concept that is being piloted at the La Bellotta farm and presented at Expo Milano 2015. The objective for the farm is to generate the energy it needs from crops grown on the farm to run its operations and farm equipment. New Holland has made progress in developing its Methane Power tractor and the first prototype is on display on the roof of the Sustainable Farm Pavilion.

The second generation prototype is based on a New Holland T6.175 standard tractor and features a 175hp (129kW) Nef 6 engine developed by FPT Industrial that delivers 740Nm torque. The nine gas cylinders have a total capacity of 300 litres (52kg) compressed methane, sufficient for all of a tractor’s complete normal operations for approximately half a day. The second generation Methane Power tractor can bring fuel cost savings of 20% up to 40%. In terms of environmental performance, it has 80% lower polluting emissions than a standard Diesel tractor and is already capable of fulfilling future greenhouse gas targets, which are expected to require a 20% reduction across Europe by 2020.

CO2 emissions can be further reduced by using biomethane, that is methane derived from biomass. The switch can be made without changes to the tractor or the fuel distribution network, which opens up great opportunities for achieving overall greenhouse gas reduction targets. In the context of an Energy Independent Farm, which can grow the biomass to produce its own biomethane, not only could CO2 emissions be eliminated, but fuel cost could also be cut by as much as 40%.

New Holland’s commitment “for healthy, safe and nutritious food for all”:

the Charter of Milan, legacy of Expo 2015

With its wide reach, Expo Milano 2015 will certainly do much to raise awareness amongst the general public of the challenges that world agriculture faces . An important legacy of the Expo will be the Charter of Milan, an act of commitment signed by citizens, institutions and associations to provide healthy, safe and nutritious food for all. As a CNH Industrial brand, New Holland commits to doing its part, Carlo Lambro will sign the Charter of Milan on behalf of the Group.

clip_image002.gif

New styling brings functionality with style

The new T7 Series has been completely restyled resulting in a sleek, aggressive new styling that marries form and functionality. Housed in the new engine hood are New Holland’s trademark cat eye lights that now include LED signature lighting. The sleek lines of the hood features extended blue side panels which provide improved protection from dirt and debris from entering the engine compartment while new side vents add a further styling element. Service access to filters and the cooling package is as easy as ever with an integrated release handle in the left side of the grille. The slim roof line with distinctive gullwing-like profile features an array of adjustable powerful LED working lights, further improving visibility after dark. Attention to small details such as an integrated radio antenna illustrates that functionality can be retained with style.

ECOBlue™HI-eSCR technology delivers higher power levels

The new T7 Series features a 6-cylinder engine and ECOBlue™ HI-eSCR technology developed by FPT Industrial that meets Tier 4B emissions standards without the need for Exhaust Gas Recirculation or Diesel Particulate Filter.

The high efficiency after-treatment system ensures that there’s no need to compromise the combustion efficiency in order to reduce emissions, producing power is the engine’s only task. This freedom has allowed New Holland to increase the upper power levels of both wheelbase versions of the T7. Rated power of the long wheelbase increases by 5% while the standard wheel base climbs by 9% to a 180 hp. Add 45 hp of Engine Power Management to this and the T7.225 is a mighty powerful tractor for its dimensions and weight. To maximise the potential of this package tyres as large as 710/70R38 are now available on the standard wheel base.

Don’t just focus on the high power though. With their HI-eSCR technology New Holland are still able to offer customers a 6 cylinder T7 at a relatively low power level. Many operators will always choose the advantages of a 6 cylinder tractor over a 4 cylinder model; at a rated power of 140-hp rising to 175-hp with Engine Power Management the exclusive T7.175 retains those benefits for the customer.

Productivity-boosting features include new LED work lights package and ISOBUS Class III

The new T7 Series bristles with productivity boosting features that enable the operator to work most efficiently. The all-new lighting offering features up to 16 LED cab work lights that provide a true 360-degree and far-reaching spread of light which is five times greater than before at 31,000 lumens. All the work lights are integrated in the roof; the front corner 360-degree ones have a

large arc of adjustment able to point rearwards, for example downwards at a verge mower or towards the outer edge of wide implement. The rear 360-degree corner lights can be switched off independently to avoid glare, typically when unloading alongside a harvester. With these classleading LED work lights packages, operators are able to work long after dark comfortably, safely and productively.

Increased productivity comes with easy to use automation. A new 2nd generation Headland Turn Sequencer II has been developed. Controlled through the now standard IntelliView™ IV touch screen, HTS II enables complex headland turns to be created by recording a turn ‘live’ or creating one by selecting actions and trigger points from a menu. Everything from selecting the target speed of the Auto Command transmission to switching to an implement camera view is programmable and editable. It’s then placed under the control of a single button. What more can you automate? How about if your implement took control of the tractor? With the new T7 comes ISOBUS Class III architecture which allows a compatible implement, a New Holland BigBaler for example, to control the tractor including its speed.

Further additional features include adjustment of the power shuttle clutch engagement time and Remote Valve Management. This allows any two hydraulic remote valves to be assigned to the quad switch on the CommandGrip multi-function handle.

At the front end the long wheel base models get a new integrated front linkage with a higher capacity PTO, while the standard wheelbase front end loader option features a wider frame loader for improved visibility and stability.

Advanced braking technology brings safety and performance

The T7 range brings to farms braking systems that you only normally find on commercial road vehicles. Available on the T7.230 models and above, the advanced braking technology of the award-winning anti-lock system (ABS) manages the brakes of each wheel individually, increasing vehicle stability when braking on greasy surfaces, a very desirable option for those involved in high levels of road transport work. In addition, ABS SuperSteer enables the tractor to execute tight turns in the field by automatically braking the rear inside wheel as the steering wheel is turned. An ABS trailer power socket and an exhaust brake are also individual options on all T7 models. The exhaust brake feature reduces the requirement to use the normal service brakes when descending gradients, the engine’s cylinder compression being utilised to hold the tractor’s speed. Finally, wider frame modular trailer hitches increase flexibility at the rear of the tractor.

Industry-leading Horizon™ cab offers a smooth ride and ultimate comfort

New Holland’s Horizon™ cab’s all round visibility is enhanced with the new single piece front screen offering a perfect view. Longer front fenders offer improved protection from mud while a wiper mounted screen wash nozzle keeps the view clear. For those colder mornings there’s the convenience of heated front and rear screens as an option.

The new T7 Series offers the best line-up of seats in the industry, with a choice of three levels of comfort: Comfort, Dynamic Comfort and Auto Comfort. The Comfort seat utilises a low frequency suspension design. The Dynamic Comfort seat features an enhanced low frequency suspension and a variety of comfort enhancing features, such as the automatic shock absorber adjustment, pneumatic lumbar support and two-stage heater. Both seats feature an innovative swivelling backrest designed to provide upper back support while enabling the operator to turn and look back. The Auto Comfort active seat with incorporated climate control reduces whole body vibration by up to 40% compared to a low frequency seat, while extraction fans within the seat remove moisture, lowering surface humidity and temperature. The finishing touch is the seat trim, covered in high quality cloth or leather, finely stitched; they are more akin to a super car than a tractor. The only place you’ll find more style than a T7 is the new Blue Power T7. The now familiar high quality metallic blue and silver paint finish is complemented with a unique seat and carpet. Loaded with an envious level of standard equipment Blue Power models set the benchmark for tractor style.

Levels of tractor stability and comfort are increased on the standard wheelbase models levels with the introduction of new double acting control logic on the Terraglide™ suspended front axle.

The T7.230 model and above retain the advanced semi-active ‘Skyhook’ logic.

Future of farming: New Holland brings methane tractor to Cereals

·UK farmers’ got first look at New Holland’s new T6.180 Methane Power tractor at Cereals 2016
nh1.JPG

·The tractor represents a key step in achieving New Holland’s goal of Energy Independent Farming

·The second generation prototype offers fuel cost savings of up to 20% and emits 80% less polluting emissions than a standard diesel tractor

·On environmental performance, the new machine has 80% less polluting emissions than a standard diesel tractor

Farmers attending Cereals 2016 on 15-16 June got their first look at New Holland’s second generation T6.180 Methane Power tractor and took the opportunity to look inside and quiz the company’s product specialist.

New Holland has a long history of researching and promoting the role of agricultural mechanisation within a sustainable future for agriculture, through precision farming, equipment supporting conservation agriculture, training in sustainable farming practices, and alternative energy sources.

This year New Holland brought its message of sustainability to Cereals event visitors by demonstrating the progress of development of its methane powered tractor prototype.

“We’re delighted to bring our Methane Power tractor to the UK and give British and Irish farmers the opportunity to see it for the first time,” said James Ashworth, Marketing Manager for New Holland Agriculture UK and ROI. “This second generation prototype marks an important stage in achieving New Holland’s goal of energy independent farming. Biomethane, as a renewable source of energy, is an exciting prospect for powering tomorrow’s agricultural machinery.”

The second generation prototype is based on a New Holland T6.180 standard tractor and features a 175hp (129kW) Nef 6 engine developed by FPT Industrial that delivers 740Nm torque.

The nine gas cylinders have a total capacity of 300 litres (52kg) compressed methane, sufficient for approximately half a day of normal tractor operations.

The Methane Power tractor can bring fuel cost savings of up to 20%. On environmental performance, the new machine has 80% less polluting emissions than a standard diesel tractor and is already capable of fulfilling future greenhouse gas targets, which are expected to require a 20% reduction in emissions across Europe by 2020.

CO2 emissions can be further reduced by using biomethane, (methane derived from biomass). The switch from methane to biomethane can be made without changes to the tractor or the fuel distribution network, which opens up great opportunities for achieving overall greenhouse gas reduction targets. When powered by biomethane, the tractor’s carbon impact is virtually zero.

They were joined by three young farmers who were recently awarded in Brussels for their innovative and sustainable projects during the Third European Congress of Young Farmers, sponsored by New Holland: Alicia Pardo Garcia from Spain, who operates a horse farm and produces organic mare's milk near Madrid, Henrique Corrêa Silvestre Ferreira from Portugal, who produces high quality seedless table grapes in the region of Alentejo, and Petko Simeonov from Bulgaria who produces organic honey near Sofia.

Fitted with 9 tanks able to hold approx. 300 litres (52 kg) of methane and a 6 cylinder, 179 HP max power engine, the New Holland T6.180 Methane Power tractor was equipped with a ripper. These tests reconfirmed the positive feedback received from testing in Italy, Spain and in the United Kingdom, which not only demonstrate the operational capacities of the tractor but also its qualities in fuel cost savings of 25 to 40% in comparison to diesel, and its sustainability with 80% less polluting emissions if compared to the equivalent diesel model. If bio-methane is used, the tractor’s global carbon impact is virtually zero.

In Italy the T6 Methane Power was tested with good results by the Maccarese farm near Rome to roll the fields before and after seeding. In Spain, the tractor worked at the grape and olive producer Bodegas Torres, which has been committed to using alternative energies and reducing polluting emissions since 2008. In the United Kingdom, the prototype was tested successfully by Wyke Farms in Somerset, which is one of the country’s biggest Cheddar cheese producers and owner of a biogas plant, and by Worthy Farm, home to the famous Glastonbury music festival.

Overall, the tractor has clocked more than 100 hours of operation performing different activities: cultivation, road transport and work with a front loader.

Testing of the New Holland T6.180 Methane Power will continue at La Bellotta during July and August. In September the prototype will tour other European markets.

Moo Holland, a lifesized fiberglass cow painted to depict a countryside landscape by artist Jenny Leonard, has been unveiled at Countryfile Live, a new event based on the popular BBC television programme. The decorated cow is a member of the Surrey CowParade, a public art exhibition which raises money for charitable causes and community projects.

Moo Holland’s UK tour got udder-way on the New Holland stand at Countryfile Live, which takes place at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire from 4th – 7th August. After the event Moo Holland will moo-ve to London where intrepid commuters, tourists and children can visit her in the peaceful courtyard of St. Bride’s Church, just off Fleet Street between the 8th and 31st August.

Moo Holland’s sponsors include agricultural machinery manufacturer New Holland and south-east agricultural machinery dealership Oakes Brothers Ltd.

Once the exhibition ends the cows from the Surrey CowParade will be auctioned-off for charity with the proceeds split between a charity of the sponsor’s choice and Surrey CowParade’s charity, the Surrey Hills Trust Fund. New Holland is supporting farming charity Addington Fund and money raised from the auction of Moo Holland will provide much-needed funds to help farmers in England and Wales. The charity was among those who helped farmers affected by the flooding on the Somerset Levels in 2014 and In the north of England in December 2015.

Sara Sebastianelli, Brand Communications at New Holland Agriculture UK and Ireland says: “Supporting

farmers and farming families is very important to us at New Holland. We are really excited to be at CountryFile Live to meet members of the public and show off Moo Holland for the first time. We felt that the Addington Fund, who we have supported in the past, was the ideal charity to benefit from this initiative”.

Ian Bell, Chief Executive of Addington Fund describes why raising money through initiatives like Moo Holland and Surrey CowParade is vital. He says: “It’s a sad fact that many farmers risk losing their home when they have to leave the agricultural industry, often through no fault of their own. The continuing dairy crisis with many farmers losing money on every pint of milk they produce had led to many thousands facing financial ruin and forced to leave dairy farming.

“Elderly tenant farmers who don’t own the land they farm are particularly at risk of homelessness once they give up their tenancy. Many cannot afford the market rates for private rented properties and so they come to us for help.”

The CowParade is the world’s largest public art event and this year’s event includes over 50 bovine beauties at various locations across Surrey and London. The exhibition runs until 3rd September when all the cows will be herded back to Surrey CowParade HQ to be on display at the Surrey Hills Festival of Food and Drink at Coverwood Farm, Ewehurst, Surrey, before being auctioned.

New Holland updates narrow-body rotary combine range with new CR8.80
Emissions technology in new CR8.80 meets Tier4B criteria

·Redesigned adjustable vanes improve productivity with greater grain separation

·Narrow body width of 3.24m eases transport

·High output, in excess of 50 tonnes of wheat per hour

New Holland has launched its narrow-bodied CR8.80, the latest model in its rotary combine line up. Featuring a new engine which meets Tier 4B emissions criteria and adjustable vanes for superior grain separation. The new model is highly efficient and responsive, even under full load.

The CR8.80’s new FPT Cursor 11 engine brings it in line with the rest of the CR range with ECOBlue™ HI-eSCR emissions technology to meet Tier4B criteria. No requirements for engine gas recirculation (EGR) means it maintains the high efficiency expected of a CR combine while remaining responsive when running under full load for long periods.

Redesigned adjustable vanes have been added and help improve power efficiency and increase grain separation. Already in use on larger CR models the vanes sit on the top section of the rotor cage helping keep the crop on the rotor for longer. Improved centrifugal threshing removes more grain from the straw mat, which is particularly useful when working with damper straw more common in UK and Irish crops.

When shod with tall 710/70 R42 tyres or 24’’ tracks the CR8.80 treads a narrower path through traffic and gateways at 3.24m wide, while high capacity headers ensure optimum productivity in the field. The CR8.80 is capable of harvesting in excess of 50 tonnes of wheat per hour when fitted with a 30’ (9.1m) Varifeed™ table. It also features the same Twin Pitch Rotor™ technology and Dynamic Feed Roll module as can be found in the range topping CR10.90.

The CR8.80 is a comfortable place to spend long hours at the wheel with the Harvest Suite™ Ultra cab. Operators benefit from low noise levels of 73dB and a glass area of 6.3m2 for exceptional visibility, plus air-conditioning, automatic climate control, coolbox and removable fridge. New Holland’s CommandGrip™ handle and IntelliView™ IV monitor come as standard, while optional IntelliSteer® auto guidance helps operators manage a variety of guidance paths and SmartSteer edge guidance automatically ensures the header is full, right to the edge.

The new CR8.80 makes its debut during New Holland’s Harvest Demonstration Tour of the UK during August and September.

The New Holland NHDrive concept autonomous tractor shows a vision into the future of agriculture

Unveiled on 30th August at the Farm Progress Show in the United States, the New Holland NHDrive concept autonomous tractor is a driverless machine which can perform a wide range of farming tasks day and night. It is also able to reach the field autonomously via private on-farm tracks, to work together with other autonomous or traditional operator controlled machines and courtesy of the cab it can still be driven by an operator ensuring maximum flexibility.

At first glance, the T8 Blue Power tractor on display may have looked like a normal standard tractor to the numerous visitors who packed New Holland's stand at the Farm Progress Show, the annual outdoor farming machinery show that is held in Boone, Iowa (USA). But once the first images of the video dedicated to the tractor and its incredible operational capacities appeared on the screen, everyone understood that they were witnessing a glimpse into the future of farming, one that could feature fully autonomous machinery: something which could redefine the agriculture of tomorrow.

A further evolution based on efficiency and sustainability

Developed by CNH Industrial in collaboration with its long-standing technology provider Autonomous Solutions Incorporated, ASI, a Utah-based company that is the industry leader in off-road autonomous solutions, the New HollandNHDrive autonomous tractor is an unmanned vehicle that is fully autonomous and can be monitored and controlled via a desktop computer or via a portable tablet interface. This enables farmers to access tractor and implement data, wherever they are, from different locations, whilst checking fields from the comfort of their pick-up, whilst tending livestock or whilst at home, and always whenever they need. This facilitates right-time decision making to enhance operational efficiency and productivity. Furthermore, farmers will maintain full control and ownership of their data.

A path-plotting screen shows the tractor’s progress, another shows its live camera feed, providing the user with up to four real time views (two front and two rear). A further screen enables monitoring and modification of key machine and implement parameters such as engine speed, fuel levels and implement settings, including seeding rate or coulter downforce. The route to the field can also be planned, should this involve private roads or tracks.

The NHDrive concept tractor is equipped with a seeder, and is able to autonomously seed the next crop straight behind the combine. Using an application installed on a portable device, perfect for supervised automation, such as an operator driving a combine, or on a desktop computer, perfect for the farmer working in his farm office, the tractor and implement parameters can be continually monitored and controlled, and changes can be made if necessary.

Able to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the NHDrive tractor helps to reduce the risks associated with human error as it follows predetermined and optimised plans for all activities. It is able to reach higher levels of productivity and efficiency than traditional methods. The NHDrive can make full use of the periods of favourable weather for farming operations by working day and night.

In the future, the NHDrive tractor will be able to completely automate grain handling during the harvest when equipped with a trailer, including unloading, transport and offloading activities.

Two tractors in one: maximum flexibility

The NHDrive concept tractor is equipped with a cab that is completely identical to that of a standard T8. This means that it can also be used for those operations where complete autonomy is not yet possible, such as front loader work and high speed road transport.

As regards getting around the farm, the NHDrive tractor can travel on pre-mapped private paths. Simply "tell it" where to go and what it has to do once it has reached its destination via private tracks, and the tractor will get to work, either individually or in a convoy.

The New Holland NHDrive tractor makes full use of the advanced PLM (Precision Land Management) technology for precision farming. This Open - Connected - Smart – Supported technology is easy-to-use, and is always accessible to all users and is continuously supported by New Holland specialists.

The NHDrive tractor follows optimised in-field paths, which are automatically generated by the software, after having taken into account the size and shape of the field, any pre-existing obstacles and the width of the implement to be used. Furthermore, it will be fully compatible with the full suite of PLM solutions. In the future this concept will be able to utilise previously collected yield data for the variable application of inputs and to carry out operations with maximum precision, year after year. The results are increased operating efficiency and the ability to make the most of short operating windows.

The NHDrive tractor is able to work alongside other autonomous machines and can also work in tandem with machines driven by an operator.

Thanks to a combination of radar, LiDAR (range finding lasers) and RGB cameras, the NHDrive is able to detect a wide range of in-field obstacles. If an obstacle is detected, the tractor sends a message to the interactive interface and the person responsible for the farming operations will decide if and how the tractor can avoid or bypass the obstacle.

It is conceivable, that in the future the complete tractor range as well as other agricultural equipment could be equipped with the NHDrive technology. Furthermore it is possible that the cab will be completely removed in future autonomous tractors.

The ideal celebration of 10 years of sustainable efficient technologies

The preview of the New Holland NHDrive autonomous concept tractor represents one of the most significant milestones surrounding the 10th anniversary celebration of New Holland's Clean Energy Leader strategy. Since 2006 this strategy promotes the use of renewable fuels and develops technologies targeted at reducing the environmental impact of farming activities and maximising farming efficiency and productivity, with the declared objective of producing food for everyone while using fewer resources.

The further development of the NHDrive autonomous tractor will be a key element of the future PLM strategy - one of the pillars of the Clean Energy Leader® strategy – and represents the ultimate expression of the "doing more with less" concept: more work, more efficiency, more productivity, more flexibility in operating decisions, all based on precise data. This, all with optimised use of inputs, reduced costs and consumption and less human fatigue.

“The NHDrive autonomous tractor offers us the opportunity to open up completely new horizons for future farming” stated Carlo Lambro, Brand President of New Holland Agriculture “Farming will become increasingly responsible for ensuring the availability of food produced in an efficient and sustainable way. An autonomous tractor that is able to work day and night, helps solve the problem of a lack of specialised labour during the most intense seasons, makes 100% use of the periods of favourable weather for various farming activities and maximises the rational use of resources.

The NHDrive concept autonomous tractor represents the first and very important step towards a new model of responsible farming management on a global level. At New Holland Agriculture we have made farming innovation our main goal for more than 120 years and are proud to be an active and driving force in this important change”.

New Holland Roll Baler 125 and Roll Baler 125 Combi

· Consistently high bale quality and high productivity

· Rugged and reliable, designed for heavy livestock and contract users

· Easy and intuitive operation

· Distinctive New Holland design provides excellent accessibility

New Holland Agriculture launches the new Roll Baler 125 and Roll Baler 125 Combi at Innovagri. The two models, which have been completely restyled to offer excellent service access, have been extensively renewed and upgraded to meet the requirements of the most demanding contractors, livestock and mixed farmers.

Simon Nichol, Head of Hay & Forage and Crop Production Product Management, said: “The new Roll Baler models are designed to operate in a wide range of conditions, delivering consistently high bale quality even when working with heavy grass, dense hay or large dry, brittle straw swaths. The new models dramatically increase performance in bale quality, durability, reliability and ease of operation and share many advanced features with the Roll Baler 135 Ultra that is in a class of its own.”

Consistently high bale quality and high productivity

The Roll Baler 125 models feature the latest pick-up, which was introduced on the Big Baler and Roll Belt balers. At 2.3 m, it is 300mm wider than in the previous model. The 5 tine bars with double cam drive and the adjustable suspension deliver ultimate feeding capacity and best-in-class pick up efficiency. The improved roller windguard, also adopted from the Big Baler range, ensures perfect feeding of very small or heavy windrows and is available with a choice of removable fixed or swivel wheels. That can be stowed on the pick up for transport, and remains under 3m wide when the pick-up wheels are installed.

The new models feature a new drop floor which is operated from the comfort of the tractor cab. The unique pivot design lowers the floor by 120mm at the front and 60 mm at the rear, making it far easier and quicker to clear a blockage without any losses. The knives lower automatically when the drop floor is lowered. The optional Rotor declutch system ensures fast unplugging even in extreme conditions.

The operator can manually select the option of operating with 10 knives or the full 20, switching from the two settings without having to stop for sharpening. The consequent reduced service time results in greater productivity. As the bale nears completion, the knives can be retracted for the final layer, leaving a smoother surface and improving the bale’s integrity for wrapping. When not in use, the knives are automatically raised every time the bale chamber is opened. This action ensures the self-cleaning of the knives bank.

The all-new advanced roller design with 10 notches reduces crop losses in dry conditions and provides a perfect grip in all conditions, ensuring superior bale density every time.

The new film wrap on the Roll Baler 125 Combi (also featured on the Roll Baler 135 Ultra) is unique to New Holland: it has a positive hydraulic feed that can be set to pre-stretch the film to ensure a tight, secure and reliable wrap every time thanks to the bundle arms. The system works with plastic or net with a roller up to 1400mm wide, and 3 rollers can be carried on board.

The wrapper speed is 20% higher than in the previous model, dramatically increasing productivity. The result is a consistently perfect bale shape, proven improvement in the quality of silage, fewer layers of wrap required as the same material wraps and seals, and it’s easier for transport and storage. The system can also operate with a combination of film and net, resulting in greater versatility.

On the single Roll Baler New Holland introduces the DuckbillTM net wrapping system, which is 20% faster; easy net loading from the side with 1 active and 2 stock rolls; and over-the-edge net wrapping.

Rugged and reliable, designed for heavy livestock and contract users

The new Roll Baler models are specifically designed to meet the demanding requirements of large livestock and heavy contract users. They are designed and built to work with heavy grass, dense hay and forage crops. They bale dry straw, gather irregular swaths and cope with difficult terrain.

The high-strength chassis handles difficult ground conditions with ease and requires less maintenance during the year. The heavy-duty sprockets and chains withstand the high forces from wet grass and reduce maintenance costs. Automatic oiling and greasing are standard on these machines and result in increased uptime, as maintenance is guaranteed. The durable lubricated plain bearings are designed for difficult and heavy conditions. The robust feeding rotor made of Hardox® 400 material delivers a perfect cutting and conveying performance.

Easy and intuitive operation

The new Roll Baler models have a host of features that simplify operation and make it intuitive.

The adjustable drawbar is designed to allow high and low hitch positions and fitted with a repositioned double speed jack that speeds up attaching and removing the baler. Different hitch types can be selected.

The Roll Baler 125 models have full ISOBUS connectivity to be compatible with tractors and can be specified with a New Holland IntelliViewTM IV monitor. The baling process is completely monitored on the large colour touchscreen, where key functions such as density setting adjustment can be controlled.

Distinctive New Holland design provides excellent accessibility

The new Roll Bar models feature New Holland’s latest styling. The new design and construction of the shielding provides perfect service accessibility. With the new shielding the 10 plastic rolls are fully covered, it is easy to load and the storage box pivots for better accessibility when required for maintenance.

New Holland Agriculture introduces the new T4 FNV series of narrow tractors for orchards, vineyards and specialty applications. The new range further raises the bar on safety with the new Blue Cab 4™ system, on performance with the new engine and emission reduction system, and on productivity with a host of new features. The four new tractor models combine New Holland’s bold tractor styling with a streamlined design that has been optimised for narrow rows.

Sean Lennon, Head of Tractor and Precision Land Management Product Management, said: “The new T4 FNV and TK4 build on the illustrious heritage of New Holland’s industry-leading specialist tractors. They are ideal for customers of all sizes, from small farms to large corporate agricultural operations, with labour intensive and high value crops, as well as non-standard agricultural applications that have very specific needs. These tractors put the safety and comfort of the operator first, taking them to new unprecedented levels. In particular, the BlueCab 4TM on the T4FNV, which exceeds regulatory requirements by far sets new standards in the industry.”

T4 FNV: the latest generation in a long line of pioneering, industry leading narrow tractors

The new T4 FNV Series is the latest in a long line of specialty tractors that started in 1934 with the first mass-produced crawler tractor and produced gems like the famous Serie Nastro d’Oro. For many years New Holland has set the benchmark in this segment, introducing innovations never seen on narrow tractors before – for example in 1997 the hydraulic transmission with steering-column mounted electro-hydraulic shuttle, ideal for a tractor destined to perform numerous manoeuvres between planting rows.
Safety first and the ultimate versatility with the exclusive Blue Cab™ 4 system

The T4 FNV Series introduces the unique Blue Cab 4™ system that provides the operator with best-in-class protection from plant protection products. New Holland also went the extra mile with the homologation and validation process of the Blue Cab 4TM system. It is homologated for filter to EN 15695-2:2009 standard and cab to EN 15695-1:2009 pressurization standards, providing superior operator protection. In addition, it has undergone 2 seasons of field tests in real conditions with different pesticides to validate filter life.

The Blue Cab 4 system features an exclusive patented double filtration system. With two filters – one Category 2 and one Category 4 – in the same roof system, the operator can operate the filtration system on Level 2 protection and switch to Level 4 protection when needed, for example when spraying. This will ensure longer filter life and lower maintenance costs. The new cab benefits from a reduction in noise level from 82 to the best-in-class 78dB(A).

This innovative system will continue to deliver optimal performance and guarantee the highest and unique levels of driver protection for the entire life of the tractor.

A powerful performance comes with class leading efficiency

The T4NFV tractors run 3.4-litre four-cylinder engine developed by FPT Industrial. The Common Rail turbocharged engines deliver power ranging from 75 hp to 107 hp, with maximum torque of 444 Nm on the T4.110 VNF at the top of the line up. The new FPT engine delivers a better performance than its predecessor, resulting in a more powerful tractor as well as lower cost of ownership.

The new T4NFV series complies with Tier 4A emissions standards using a Cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (CEGR) system and second-generation Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) technology. This solution results in a compact engine installation that is well suited to the space constraints in Specialty Tractors. It doesn’t require filter regeneration, there is no filter to replace and the engine hardware is simpler so that maintenance is easier, and the temperature on the muffler’s external surface is lower. This system is the perfect solution for specialty tractors, with its compact size, no regeneration and its easy maintenance.

The ultimate productivity in a compact package

The fuel tank capacity on the T4.110F has been increased by 20 litres to 98 litres, resulting in best-in-class fuel autonomy and a consequent increase in productivity, as fewer refuelling stops mean more time in the field.
The T4NFV Series tractors feature large rear hitch lift capacities and are available with an electronic draft control system to provide more precise rear hitch control. They also feature a front three-point hitch with PTO, providing greater versatility while operating between rows. The heavy-duty front hitch has a lift capacity up to 1970 kg – double the capacity of the previous model. The redesigned front PTO is designed with a purely hydraulic PTO clutch that is directly linked to the engine shaft and delivers 93 PTO hp – 7% more than the previous model.

The new premium dual-pump hydraulic system features a hydraulic pump with a flow of 80l/min entirely dedicated to the implements. It also has three open-centre load-sensing rear remotes with one diverter valve and up to 8 outlets and mid-mount electrohydraulic valves in a new compact layout the improves mid-mount implement adaptation. These features enable the operator to manage more implements at the same time, with consequent improvement in their productivity. In addition, the tractors are able to operate power-hungry implements with ease.

The new Engine Speed Management system accommodates fluctuations in engine load while maintaining the desired engine speed. The operator can set two different speeds and toggle between them with a simple switch. This is a simple and extremely fuel-efficient feature that adds to the excellent Total Cost of Ownership of the T4 FNV series.

The new T4FNV Series is capable of exceeding the expectations of even the most demanding customers with the industry-leading safety of the Blue Cab 4TM, the powerful performance and class leading efficiency of the engine, and the ultimate productivity of its powerful front HPL and PTO.

TK 4 crawler tractors deliver best-in-class performance raising safety and comfort to new level

The new Stage IIIB TK4 Series, which has now been brought in line with the family styling of the T4FNV tractors, maintains its performance leadership in the segment while raising the bar on operator comfort and safety.

Operator comfort comes first with new operator station and ATS layout

The new TK4 Series introduces new dust and hot-air protection on a tractor typically employed in harsh and dusty conditions. This adds to the comfort provided by the silent-block suspended platform, the ergonomic control layout and the Steering-O-Matic Plus™ driving system.
The ATS layout has been specifically designed for the TK4 crawler models in order to keep the low centre of gravity that is so important for these tractors that work on steep slopes. A 500 kg ballast, supported by a strengthened front axle, adds weight to the front of the tractor to balance heavier implements.

Best-in-class performance with the new electronic injection and after-treatment system

The new TK4 models feature an FPT Industrial 4-cylinder, 8-valve engine with turbo-intercooler and Cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation. They meet Stage IIIB standards while increasing their proven best-in-class power and torque performance. The electronic engine with optimised performance is also exceptionally fuel efficient.

The widest product offering on the market of the successful predecessor TK4000 has been maintained in the TK4 Series. Significant improvements have been made in order to improve operator comfort and serviceability, while keeping best-in-class performance and exclusive features such as SmartTraxTM, factory installed cab, and Steering-O-Matic Plus.

The new BigBaler 1290Plus is designed and built for reliability and durability, and the easy serviceability means it will spend even more time in the field delivering its top-notch performance.”

Consistently best-in-class bale quality with up to 10% higher density

The new BigBaler 1290 Plus features a 80 cm longer baler chamber over the prior model which delivers up to 10% higher density in perfectly formed bales for stacking and transport, maintaining this high bale quality through the day. The increase in density is dependent on field condition and means more crop per bale, raising the customer’s productivity.

The BigBaler’s double knot system is designed to guarantee high bale density with lower knotting strain, reducing the risk of twine snapping even in hot conditions, further increasing productivity.

Smart baling with best-in-class features raises capacity and bale quality to new heights

The new BigBaler 1290 Plus delivers the ultimate baling experience with a host of unique features, such as the IntelliCruise™ technology that automatically regulates tractor ground speed to maximize baling capacity and uniform bale density, or the best-in-class SmartFill™ feed flow indicators that tell the operator in real time which direction they should drive over the swath for even bale formation. The productivity-boosting features also include the MaxiSweep™ pick-up design that tackles high tonnage windrows with common components – tine bars and reel bearings – from the self-propelled forage harvester pick up. The plunger stroke rate per minute and the in-line crop flow guaranteed by the uniform width of the feeding, processing and pre-compression elements combine to make it the highest capacity New Holland baler ever. In addition, the BigBaler is fully ISOBUS compatible for single screen technology. With the best-in-class IntelliView™ IV monitor in the tractor cab, operators have at-a-glance intuitive fingertip control of all key operating parameters when baling at top speed.

Improved durability and reliability

A host of improvements to the BigBaler 1290 Plus raise the bar on durability and reliability. For example, the diameter of the packer shaft has been increased from 5.8 cm to 7.6 cm; the bigger drive chain, now 3.2 cm, handles with ease the high loads of PackerCutter models; and the slip clutch has been reinforced.

In CropCutter™ models, the new high quality chrome pins are more wear resistant against sand and dust, and extend the chain life significantly. Each knife is spring protected to avoid breakage from foreign objects and optional hard-faced knives are available for greater durability.

Furthermore, a heavy duty rotor is available for extreme abrasive conditions – this prevents premature rotor wear in such harsh conditions and allows 4 times longer rotor lifetime.
In the pre-compression chamber, a shear bolt on the stuffer mechanism protects the stuffer from damage in case of obstruction or overload. In addition, the crop holding fingers have been reinforced and ensure perfect flake formation with 7 fingers.

The knotting system and bale ejection have been revised to make it easy to set and control bale length, and the reliable design of the bale length tooth sector ensures a long lifetime. The passive teeth system has been replaced with an active teeth system on Full Bale-EjectTM– before the bale ejection moves backwards, all teeth are first pushed in the bale to maximize best performance and full grip in all conditions. An improved knotter cleaning performance reduces crop accumulation in the knotter area.
