New holland becons

Pull the switch unit out and check the plug, they have a tendency to melt, burn the pins or worse case scenario burn the switch out completely. You can get a modification with a relay to stop it.

In the same boat here I have spent time yesterday and today trying to get beacons on a 6080 going with no luck.
Beacon button in the cab roof lights up ok when I press it but nothing at the roof mounted sockets. I could not find any specific relay for these lights and the only fuse I could see from the inlay card was ok too. (Fuse 31). The plug on the back of the key pad looks ok but I did not separate it from unit - is that the plug you are talking about above ?

Thanks.

Yea that plug, I've had it before where the pins were just dirty and wanted a really good clean.

Pull that unit out, is there a big loom behind it with a relay? This is the modification I was on about.

Big loom yes, but no sign of a relay. It seems strange that they did not originally have a relay and had the beacon current going through the unit.
The modification I presume meant not having to run the full beacon current through the lighting ECU/unit.

I will give a another look at the pins when I get the chance. ?

Had the same issue here. The panel with beacon and work lights fails.

The beacon turns on and goes red on the panel but no juice to the actual beacons.

I haven’t heard about the fix re: put a relay in but it makes good sense.

Yes it will of melted a pin at the back of the control panel my 6070 has done it. You can get a kit with a relay from the dealer as somebody has said above but mine has melted it too bad and I need a complete new plug on as well. They run too hot if you’ve got 2 flashing lights on that’s why they melt.

Thanks to all. The pins looked fine but when . I opened the worklamp module, the PCB was damaged on the inside. I ended up wiring the beacon into the DIN plug for the moment which powers down on key off, which in a way shots better as no danger of leaving beacon on.

Many thanks for the info as I will fix the worklamp module and put in relay at some stage and would not have copped without the info on here.

@cosmagedon & Co.

Just another quick query on the electrical front if that’s ok.

The 6080 does not have a battery isolation switch. I want to fit a mechanical one. (More simple that trying to retrofit an electrical one with the switch on the C pillar).

If the battery is completely isolated will it create issues for the ECU, calibrations or other critical settings etc.

I not worried about things like radio settings
Thanks in advance.
