So who will be the 1st in the UK to buy one of these? 830hp (boosting to 913hp) and a ballasted weight of 38 tonnes. There'll be some here in Lincs no doubt. I suspect the bigger announcement by Deere yesterday though was the autonomous tractor capability being built into many of their new models. Kids dreaming of driving one of these may never get the chance!!

Someone currently running x2 smaller 9RX's or x2 Case quadtracs? Someone who wants to outdo the neighbours? People have been saying "who'd buy that" since hp went over 100.

Theres no machinery in the UK to go behind it. It'll ruin everything it touches.

I guess you won't be replacing your horse team anytime soon then. I suspect others will be buying to suit their needs and wants.

Cant see why anybody needs or wants one of those in this country. Farmers running high hp in the uk now already have the quadtracks and rx's matched to whats available to go behind them. Unless your suddenly going to be able to buy a 12m topdown for example to suit controlled traffic 12m farming then theres nothing to pull that will effectively utilise the hp. Of course you might be a couple who want to trump the neighbours and are living of building money land sales who need to have it.

I suspect anyone buying one in the UK it would be to suit their "wants" rather than their "needs".

If it has a ballasted weight of 38t, will drivers and operators need to be licensed similar to STGO / Special Type General Order oversize / overweight trucks?

Because whatever is behind it will put it well over 44t GTW.

can't really see a place for it here. don't get me wrong looks one hell of a machine but it would only be brought in the sense of 'mines bigger than yours' when neighbours like to willy wave.

Not sure about autonomy in some sectors, there are market sectors where people still want to operate there gear.

Shifting on back roads etc still take people, the more productive a bit of kit becomes the labour cost % decreases.

An 830 on 30m with 30 tonne cart will cover serious hectares an hour, 30m at 8km or 5mph ideal tine sowing speed is 20ha an hour, $40 an hour operator 2 bucks a ha...negligible.
