We are putting up a livestock building on a green field site. 80' * 60'. First job though is to do the track.

Because in the hedge is a brook, and the land around it is considered part of the flood plain. The planners did not want me to put the building in the flood plain and so I thought they would be the same with the track. The track also runs from the gateway, which is not next to the hedge, so it keeps the track running in a straight line. The space between the track and the hedge will be planted with trees in the winter.

I will keep the pictures coming. Building not going up until September so please do not expect too much too soon. I have also applied for the countryside productivity grant for the interior, and so will be waiting on that as well.

What's the reason for having the barn so far from the gateway getting electric and water etc there will probably cost much more

Originally wanted it closer to the road, but still 150m from it. I had a chat with the neighbour who over looks it and decided to go a bit further away. I would rather get on with people and discuss things like buildings with them, than just do it and fall out with them. I will be living here for the next how many years, so there is no point falling out with them.
Electric and water s not needed on a big scale at the moment, though i aim to collect the rain water. I am hoping that in a few years technology will have moved on so I can have off grid electric.
