Well the 'system' is malfunctioning then, check a few out and you will see, its been like it for sometime, i've mentioned it a few times on threads where its apparent and obvious at the time,at least.
Common sense would say check out the 'introduction' thread.

Its a pretty simple system:

Its actually 5 points to get from "New Member" to "Member". Points are awarded for all sorts of things. BUt posts and likes lead to them too. But you can get them just for filling in your profile. So I'll up the limit. Who is MR C Renner?

If you are talking about @Christopher Renner - then he only has 25 posts and 18 likes - which isn't actually enough to get 5 points.

I'm glad to have found this explanation- I've been a member for over 2 years, with 26 (hopefully) high quality, thought-out posts in that time, and wondered when the "New Member" moniker would vanish. 3 more posts to go...
