Warranty fault-return to seller.
Sounds like its the internal battery(s). Could be slight corrosion in the cell stack(dirty fingerprint?) Typically two or three cr2032 cells or similar.
Good luck.

Boot into the BIOS and check the time displayed in there. If the time is wrong there is something not quite right with your motherboard, I can't see the CMOS batteries would be dead or faulty on a brand new machine but worth checking them.

Is the machine connected to the internet? Windows sorts the time and date and other run of the mill settings by checking in with MS's owner servers.

Well after a morning spent chatting to HP tech on whatsapp.
Final message was send it back to where I bought it
Now getting hold of anyone at Currys PCW seems to be a big challenge

Not trying to sound a clever bugger, but in your earlier thread I did suggest shopping local had its merits, especially in a situation like this. These big companies are all t***s Hate dealing with them
Good luck getting it sorted

Well Currys actually came to the rescue and solved the problem.
After spending over an hour on the phone to a Hewlett Packard tech, who eventually told me there was a problem with the motherboard
Curry`s tech convinced me to try and see if there were any Hewlett Packard updates available
Turned out there was a Bios update which sorted the issue.

Ideal.

Next question
I have 2TB HDD drive and 256 GB SSd drive
what should go on each drive
SSd seems to be filling up fast

Windows should be on the SSD- check it actually is.

Your everyday apps should go on the SSD, things like Office, email client, your browser.

Everything else should be on the big hard drive or on OneDrive. There is no advantage to loading music or photos or documents from an SSD really.
