New Pickup/jeep

I know this has been discussed before but we are considering changing our 2009 Ford Ranger Thunder to a new pickup or jeep, here are the options:

Ford ranger limited ( 2.2l or 3.2l)
Hilux invincible
Land cruiser (short wheelbase, commercial)

We have looked at other options but have narrowed it down to these. The Ranger is coming in quite a bit more than the hilux and isn't much less than the land cruiser, though price to change for all options is a bit of a shock. What is everyone's thoughts on these options?

3 ton for the short wheel base LC I think, it will be the new model coming out this year. There's no doubt that the Rangers extra towing capacity would be an advantage, but the residual value of a ranger compared to the LC won't be great. With the new model ranger coming out I thought there would be better deals available.

National Gamekeepers Organisation , BASC or NFU !! all do discount schemes on Ford and some of the other 4x4 vehicles, can be quite a saving and is worth having,I think it gives you access to their fleet terms.

I think you can, quite a few of them are brought over so I can't imagine that getting them to Scotland would be any different

Another one to throw into the mix, been offered a 2015 L200 Warrior (old model) for £16k or £17k along with a roller cover, tow bar etc. What is everyone's thoughts on the L200? Sounds like a good deal and the 5 year warranty is appealing!

Swapped from a ranger to a challenger in July (same as warrior basically) Without a trailer they're fine. Triple axle loaded with 4 big stirks and it throws you about and not enough low down torque IMO. Shouldve spent the extra on contract hire for the new style ranger.

Well that's that out the window then, we work with a triple axle IW and go to the mart regularly, brought 5 back today averaging 580kg so it would struggle

Old ranger would be great fully loaded very little tail swing and romp on with it. If I could've had a test drive with a trailer it would probably have changed my mind although it's only occasional towing so doesn't bother me as much. Only 3t towing capacity aswell compared to new ranger.

I've seen a couple of the new 2016 Mitsubishi's on the local roads already, with the new registration 15.
It looks even more Oriental and chromie than the old model. The current and future new Ranger looks far more attractive to my eyes. It's a personal matter of taste and what really matters is what they are like to own, drive and work.
