I've heard it's now a requirement (or imminent) to have an Operator's Licence (not Operating Centre) to be a self employed (driving only) lorry driver

there is a "drivers CPC" you need to work for hire and reward while driving
and there is an "operators CPC" you need for running wagons,
is that the mix up

More likely to be an Operator's CPC than an Operator's Licence I would think

It would destroy the logistics chain of most supermarkets and department stores in the SW. Just in time for the summer peak as well. Fortunately I've got an O Licence qual, so may be able to inflate my rates even more

Well I'm waiting to see that there's no confusion here between Operator Licence and Driver CPC. I've kept my LGV2 from my cattle wagon / fire service days but not done my DCPC. Come the rip off 8 minute doctor chat for the renewal, I shall have to weigh up whether it's worth it all

It's LTD drivers I suppose, working for agencies and as stand alone drivers for hire. There's a shortage of drivers to start with due to driver CPC, if you need operator CPC it's going to bump rates right up.
