What happens if you don't?
I had always been very careful with my iPhone screen protectors but ended up buying a cheap second hand phone when I lost mine. This had a cracked screen and never really bothered me.
This made me wonder why I had always made such a fuss about screen protectors so when I got my new iPhone I just didn't bother at all. Especially as a new screen is probably cheaper in the long run.
Months down the line of the phone being in a farmers hands and the screen is still fine. No scratches on it.
I break screens almost as frequently as I change my long Johns:oops:

Had this one for 8ish? months now and so far only the protector has a tiny crack, so it's doing it's job well......

And yes the wife has washed my underwear several times this winter:p:D

Apps will work if there are the same apps available for Android. Email and browser will be fine. You can forget Apple specific stuff, but your calendar and contacts can migrate easily. There are apps for Dropbox and Evernote and the Google stuff, no problem.
Not sure about your music library, but I can't see why not. Music is one thing that I haven't bothered migrating from my 4S to my Windows Phone, mainly because I expected to be back on the 4S by now. Trouble is I like the Nokia just as much as the Apple and it has a bigger screen.

Which Galaxy? The new 6 starts at [a ridiculous] £600 but the older ones are about £400 I think, depending on spec. Personally I wouldn't bother with the Kyes, or whatever its called, as ordinary Android does it all without tying you in to the Samsung environment.

I had a Z3 Compact for a week, really liked the phone but I couldn't cope with the sharp cornered and edged shape of it. It was digging into my leg all day long. Finally settled on a Moto G, far nicer shaped phone and nice to hold due to the rubber back and slight curve to its shape. I really don't get why Sony make such angular phones, they'd sell loads more if they saw sense.

I had a Z3 compact for a day, had no signal where our Moto razr I & Samsung S5 had plenty, was full of sony/google bloatware and would not work with my email provider.

Returned it for refund the following day, another Samsung arriving shortly.

Ive got a samsung s5 and it is the best phone I've had, never had any Iphone, only android. I like that its waterproof but dont 100% trust that so I also bought one of these cases to keep it in http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aluminum-...t=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item4d1e285b31 the case does make it rather bulky and a LOT heavier than it is without but I like that as I still know its there, if I take it out and put it in my pocket I get moments of mild/huge panic that its dropped out and I've lost it  Also the case is also shock proof for if it is dropped (y)
