Not sure about head coverage. But from the first strike of a rod it was magical. No flashes at all , Heaps of adjustment and a great quality adjustable band.
How do they work in the cold. I’ve had a few cheaper ones that slow going dark and get blinded fir the first few seconds and eventually stop as it gets colder. I know heated workshop is on my list but until then I gues it back to the old permanently dark glass

My cold is probably different to your idea of cold.... But it's winter here and works well in single digits. My old cheapo job blinded me in all manner of weather, and if the arc was obscured from the line of the useless sensors, then it was hopeless. I've had this one in a similar position and it still hasn't caused a flash. Very happy.

Funny thing is,I know people that have ordered ones the same spec after I ordered and they have theirs!! I’ve seen a couple advertised second hand in the spec i want, but I’m not paying the 20k over new price that they both wanted 🤣
That’s why your waiting, I had same with pick up not two years though they hope you tell them to stuff it

15 months later and I’m still waiting for my 90 with no build date yet 🤣🙈
Discovery ordered last October for march delivery, now have a September build date with October delivery also email from dealer to say they will call to discuss the price nearer the time, obviously a deal is not a deal with Landrover even though deposit was paid on order.

Surely if you have paid a deposit and have paperwork that is a contract?

I bought a cancelled order top spec D300 disco commercial from them in January as it turned up and the guy didn’t want it,they were offering stupid money for my 18 plate disco so made sense to change as the cost to change was very little, when my defender turns up the disco will be for sale

Had this with one of the last original defenders. Went and placed the order in 2014 went back in early summer 2015 to confirm price. Salesman got the order form out and wrote price on it, I asked 3 times if he was sure about the price then signed order form and took a copy. Rung up later in year when it was about due to be delivered for paper work for vat and he rang back saying there was a mistake with price. I rang somebody else I deal with within the company showed them the signed order and they sorted it. It was a well spec'd 110 for not much more than a well spec'd 90

Deposit does not usually constitute a contract to buy. The contract with final price comes much later. I have paid a £2500 deposit on an Ineos Grenadier but I have yet to see one in the metal let alone decided on a final build specification. The deposit is fully refundable until the final build is decided and the contract to buy is signed. If the initial order were a contract to buy, then the deposit would not be refundable on a cancellation on my part.
If I am not impressed, it will be cancelled. They still have not answered my question as to whether the ‘commercial’ is actually a legal commercial vehicle in the UK which allows business owners to save quite a massive amount of tax on it.

79 series landcruiser utes are out to a four year wait here. Toyota have stopped taking orders. And it's the same here, you pay your deposit and they tell you the price when one becomes available and then it's your choice to go ahead or not. If not, it's not like they're going to be stuck with it.

Talking to a landrover dealer a few months ago he said he was loosing out to other dealers in the northwest of england as he told his salesmen /ladys to tel customers minimum 12-14 month waiting list at set price on ordering & deposit but loosing order as the other firms saying they can get new landrovers in 4-6 month etc and then 5-6 months later his good customers coming in and saying they wish they had ordered off him as now told 10-12 month wait after there promissed 4-6 month delivery date

And how secure is that deposit, does it have insurance against company going bankrupt?

A deposit with a dealer can be a bit dodgy but my deposit is with Ineos direct, which is a massive multinational company and hardly likely to go bust. Also paid with a credit card. It was my business credit card though and I’m not sure whether that provides the same protection, not that I think it will be needed.
Yes, the deposit on the Grenadier is effectively an interest free loan I’m giving them, but it’s not as if I would gain much interest elsewhere and stocks and shares are dropping fairly consistently atm.

Lovely combination.

Without wishing to divert too far off topic.....that Richie press. Is it fixed straight ahead or free play? The steering/wheels I mean?

I've one to recommission sometime and put on front linkage but was unsure whether to have fixed or free play on the press?
