What’s the deal with pilot holes? I have one and think it’s awesome but I haven’t used the pilot drill as it would mean drilling with the chuck then swapping for the broach and drilling the same hole again…for every hole… it seems a bit barbaric when starting a hole but seems to work fine once you’re going

No pilot hole. There is a pointer that is free floating through the center of the core bit so you can line it up.

Yeah that’s the pilot pin; there seems to be quite a few people (including the shop that sold me mine) who drill a physical hole which that locates in…

Oh. That seems a bit pointless with a core bit. I was just hammer marking then matching the pin to that.

We’ve just had a morse tapper adapter for the radial arm to take mag drill cutters. Fantastic for enlarging holes or worn/oval holes

the slower the better, cutter last longer, nap them so easy
3 mag drills here one will take 50mm cutter but can slow it right down + torque control

The smallest one goes to fast even in slow, that one breaks all cutters
