My Grandad told my Aunt and Uncle that in the early 70's.

Myself and Mrs Hooby on tour right now, loving it so far. I have never seen so much farmland, so many Jersey cows and so few houses.

How bout Wine tasting , try some Central Otago Pinot Noir and get a ride on the Shotover River jet boat if it still runs, only make sure you have a spare pair of underwear for after

Plenty of farms for sale too. Quite a few big arable blocks changed hands in this area recently as people retire and have a reorganise.
I was going to say you'll need a big cheque book, but there's no cheques anymore

Thought we'd got rid of her the other day; she flew down to Antartica and the plane broke down so she couldn't get back.
She got a lift on an Italian plane though, bloody Italians, why are there so many planes down there anyway?

Prices in oz gone nuts now, good high rainfall dirt 10k aud an acre, maybe compared to uk still cheap?? Not sure on no comparison now?

Not being in a position to buy a farm, I don't know what they sell for. Some bigish units changed hands recently including a local dairy operation for- according to the media- over $70 million.
Fecking nice farms mind.

Anywhere south of the ranges in Vic you will get country for 10k.

the only worry is too much water, but with drainage and levelling you can mitigate a lot of that.

It depends, sorry to say "carbon farming" is pushing the price out of comfortable reach for S&B farmers, a lot of the time

When she first got in, I thought it was fair, (although Winston did shaft National) National had a good run and all the folks who do well under a business-friendly government did ok. I thought it was probably time for labour to come in and have a go at fixing the schools and the health service and be more worker/union friendly and let the other side have a few wins.
They haven't done anything like that though, p*ssed off businesses and wrecked everything else.
Locking people up for having Covid was out of order too, but a lot of Kiwis supported it.

Still not convinced National have a leader though.

Depends how many stock you can run I suppose, but obviously our dollar is pretty weak and it makes it cheap for overseas buyers
