NH 6070 4wd braking

We keep having issues with the drive line on the above tractor it is a 50 k model with electroshift box
The latest is that it has broke a tooth in the hub damaging the rest of the drive cogs and cracked the hub it's self ! . I think these problems are being caused by the very bad banging in and out when the brakes are applied because of the auto engagement of the 4wd , the question is as the tractor has front brakes can you disconnect the auto engagement and what would happen if you did ? Cheers

50k per hr and 2wd braking. Are you trying to kill yourself and others?
Bet your real problem is mis matched tyre's even if new. Trelborgs are dreadful for it as their sizes seam to be vastly different than say a set of Michelin's and alter Tractor ratio's.
Try altering tyre pressures between front and back wheels and you may find the knocking gets a lot less.
Have had a similar problem a while back

It has brakes in the front hubs! Tyres
are mich 650s /540s tractor has got loader so fronts have to be pretty hard
Just go and play with the air line on a wet day? Is it worst with something heavy on the back? Or front? Tyre pressures can really alter ratio's more than you could ever think. Very easy to alter by 3%+ by pressures and loading and that will cause problems.
My problems were on a loader Tractor with reasonable hard front tyre's and when heavily loaded on the rear 4wd took age's to release and came out with a bang

The old 40 series had a wire you either connected or disconnected beside the fuse box to stop the 4wd going in on braking, the newer ones not have something similar??

Just because it has a loader doesn't mean that they have to be rock hard though, check the load charts for the tyres you'd be surprised how low you can take them as at lower speeds they can carry more weight, it's not like you're going to be using the loaders max capacity at full speed
