Old thread, we are planning on planting an avenue of small leaved lime, how wide apart are these? I’m thinking 18-20 metres

I think you need to look how they fit in the Landscape and their purpose
Ideally they need to lead to something in the distance which catches the eye , even if it is not part of your property.
20 metres in a small landscape will escape the eye.
I would get 2 people to stand at the end of your proposed avenue and look how it all fits
Worth taking some time over this was as you will regret it if it does not come out right
May well be worth visiting other avenues to see how they work
