NMR or CIS

Currently with CIS but had a visit from the NMR area rep today looking for business.

Any preference between the two companies on level of service and testing results or does it just come down to cost and the person sampling in your local area?

Was NMR for a long long time. A change in area manager ended up in a reduced service.
The Recorder is a long time friend. So when she got fed up and moved to CIS, i followed.

Have had problems with CiS tech not talking to my tech which was ongoing for a bit but now sorted.
Otherwise all ok.

Cost wise is there much in it?

Cis answer the phone & deal with your question
NMR send an email to the person who should deal with your problem & may get back to you a few days later :banghead:

If they ever bother to. I’d have moved to QMMS if we hadn’t have had the same milk recorder for 28 years. When she retires I’ll look to move. Never say never but I doubt we’d go to CIS I have serious issues with Holstein UK.

NMR wouldn't keep our recorder on once she reached 60 a very able lady, brilliant at her job and didn't want to retire. We soon left and CIS have been brilliant. Communication with NMR was rubbish, emails, phone calls and still nothing got sorted.

Very surprised at that because:
NMR recorders are self employed contractors, not employees.
My Dad was an NMR recorder and still had a 'full' list of about 13 farms when he died suddenly aged 63, although that was over 20 years ago so perhaps policy has changed.
We do DIY recording with NMR but a recorder still visits briefly to upload our data, he does plenty of 'full' recordings and he is over 60.

If I remember I think it was insurance. It didn't help there was no area manager and no regional manager around 10 years ago. Things probably may have changed now

said exactly the same to me when i moved to cis 6 or 7 yrs ago, worst thing they could have said tbh
Had a letter off NMR yesterday, they're planning on coming to see me to show me what they can offer, not that I've any intention of changing, I left when they kicked me out as a shareholder because they decided I wasn't big enough.
I wouldn't go back and there was no way I was going to stay if they could drop their prices so easily.
