The big green deal
I guess that’s no diesel pickups or commercials under 3.5t
Electric pickup then ?

The value of a combustion engine vehicle 10 years hence will depend on cost and availability of suitable fuels.
No mention of any heavy diesel applications or aviation. These use the majority of fuel I’m guessing, so can’t see diesel or kerosene drying up, also the rest of the World will still be refining crude oil.The value of a combustion engine vehicle 10 years hence will depend on cost and availability of suitable fuels.
I’m sure anyone with a small interest in mechanical engineering or physics will be well aware of the huge torque from start of electric motors. The problems are more battery, charge and range of travel. An Electric motor in a prime mover will pull at least as well theve got the potential for huge torque.
Why not learn about stuff instead prejudice?
Development is all that's needed like steam boiller s got forward to internal cylinder combustion.I’m sure anyone with a small interest in mechanical engineering or physics will be well aware of the huge torque from start of electric motors. Agreed, but battery technology is probably the stumbling block, well weight of batteries actually. The first person to develop a light weight battery will be minted!Development is all that's needed like steam boiller s got forward to internal cylinder combustion.

I wouldn’t worry about it now, without a huge leap in battery and charging technology, a dozen new power stations and millions of charing points being installed, electric cars it won’t happen.
Hybrids on the other hand can work, but at the moment they are a complete waste of money as most are so inefficient. Plenty of diesel cars have been about for years that can do up to 60mpg, as far as i am aware most petrol electric hybrids are only now just touching that. By the time you offset the carbon footprint of manufacturing the battery, diesel has to be better in my view
Underpowered due to lack of electric generation. Can’t see a nuclear power plant being built in 10 years going on current performance!I can see it now, 50 electric twin cabs, all jostling for 2 underpowered chargers at the local Mart...
There is a fudgeing great big new power station being built actually, at Hinkley Point.I wouldn’t worry about it now, without a huge leap in battery and charging technology, a dozen new power stations and millions of charing points being installed, electric cars it won’t happen.

It'll make the washing out queue look like a Girl Guides' outingI can see it now, 50 electric twin cabs, all jostling for 2 underpowered chargers at the local Mart...
