Non-permanent structures and tiny houses.

Hopefully in the near future, when we are all allowed to move around again I would like to rent a small piece of land or rural "parking space". It would be for a tiny house or non-permanent structure to become my permanent dwelling. I understand that planning permission is required but aside from that (generally speaking) is this one-way farmers/landowners would be looking/willing to diversify? If so, can anyone recommend ways of finding this land?

I think it would be a more attractive diversification for a farmer to sell the plot for 150 K plus rather than rent it to someone if planning permission was achievable needle and haystack springs to mind

Who the fudge wants to keep a cement board roof on a dwelling? Muppet planners.

Nothing wrong with fibre cement roof, I built my first house in 1991 with pre Eternit coloured sheets still looks good and is solid.I did put breathable felt under it mind ;) Found a crack a couple of years ago where a glazier had gone where he as told not to.... Used some roof repair gloop that painted on, with reinfocement fibres in it. Good stuff I have used on barn roofs before.

However, if I was forced to retain an ageing one, first thing I would do is put a rubberised coating on it to stop seepage from the inevitable cracking that will have occurred!

Planning permission will be very difficult for a tiny house, or non-permanent structure if it is to become a dwelling in the countryside unless it complies with Paragraph 79 of the National Planning Policy Framework which outlines the criteria for dwellings to be built outside of defined settlement boundaries.
