It also preserves the persistency of the domestic grass varieties, by preventing them from going to seed. I rented half of a farm about seven seasons ago. The other half went to another guy. There was good sward quality across the farm. The half I take still has a high proportion of perennial ryegrass. The other half has gone to pot. It was cut late and kept hungry. The difference is now stark.

Hungry bit is a big factor . As someone said to me ...the same farmers always get their crops in and the same farmers dont

I suppose not less docks but less of an increase in them. What do you spray with?
The way the spray and sprayer worked out it was 60% rate. Got a vg kill but their coming back. Don't like spraying grass for silage as it harms the grass. Spray after all grass is cut fir the year
Yeah we like to spray later in seaso when they're not running to seed heads

World markets determine milk price not who is the boss at Dale Farm. Dobbin played his part in changing the business and was both very determined and thick skinned to see a lot of changes both in personnel and money spent in the business.

If a fixed price 2/3 year scheme came out in next few months at 28/29p would surely be very tempting?

Short term forecast is likely for us to go above 30p before the year is out though. All hands to the pumps.
