Nose fill drinkers for sheep?

Anyone using these nose fill type drinkers for sheep when inside?
I am thinking of trying 1 or 2.
I’m fed up with the standard self fill bowls overflowing and need a few replacements anyway.

I like the look of the ones in the second link. They are cast iron. Both are a similar price.
Never used this nose fill type of drinker before.

we have loads of those Fisher ones here that have been removed they were always a problem,Replaced them with the French ones and they are faultless but a fair bit more cost and they have a drain plug in the bottom that is handy but not nose fill they have a float valve in them

We have recently put in JFC Micro Drinking bowls with the Opella valves and they are rated to 10 bar. We have got high water pressure and they shut off really well and don’t over fill

I’ve always found those to be unreliable after a while, either developing a constant drip, or the float rotating upwards by itself from the constant on/off cycles. I would actively avoid any drinker with those valves in now.

I put a couple in with brass valves a little over 12 months ago, and haven’t had to touch them yet. Not quite as good as a ‘proper’ ball clock I suspect, but next best thing in a small space:

Available elsewhere too obviously (I don’t have a MVF locally anyway), but link shows the type clearly.

This. We had a dozen JFC micro bowls with Opella valves in our sheep shed, which were constantly giving trouble. We changed all the valves to the brass type five years ago. They’ve worked perfectly ever since.

I find my ewes really struggle with nose fill drinkers as they dont get their heads into the bowl far enough to push the thing to make it fill.
Would always use ball valves
