Stumbled across this....
Probably find him down the pub and still on 40 Woodbines a day.I wonder if Don made old bones with all the filthy dust in the feed shed?
These videos are great - keep 'em coming. The sad thing is my farm seems fairly contemporary with this lot...
I am sure that Basil Fawlty had one very similar (the estate version) like that which wasn't so reliable.Love the 1100. Fantastic car but rotted faster than they could make them.
Palaver? OK in those times it was graft but with company and a good craic could be had. Probably one family supported by 50 acres unlike 1000 today, simple times and I'm really glad I was lucky enough to have been there or thereabouts. What a palaver.....
I was thinking there was a bit of recreational cultivation.... one pass with a rotavator (were they about in the early '60s ? ) would have done.Palaver? Not sure about the merit of the rotavator but a lot of cultivating for sure, especially when they came to the amount of clods on the harvester. I assume that the cultivation operation was staged, taking place on one day or a few. I was surprised at the density of the haulm with one lot baulking.I was thinking there was a bit of recreational cultivation.... one pass with a rotavator (were they about in the early '60s ? ) would have done.
Yes, I noticed spuds were picked off , rather than the clods and stones. Not sure about the merit of the rotavator but a lot of cultivating for sure, especially when they came to the amount of clods on the harvester.
