Not another problem !

Yes , another . Samsung S9 Galaxy , recently changed from "Three" to "Giffgaff" . Not quite as good a coverage perhaps as Three , but the problem that has arisen is , When I get a call , the two buttons , one green and one red - accept or decline show OK but it will not accept the call , no matter whether I just press the green button or "slide " it . Question , is this a phone setting fault or a Giffgaff interference , I should add that this time I haven't altered anything in the settings , but there has been an update on the phone O.S. It's a bit of a pain having to allow the call to go off , and then ring back to the missed call number . Help would be greatly appreciated .

Ive had countless problems with Galaxy phones . The dreaded water detector on the charge port when its been no where near water , crap battery life . And bixby is like a wasp in ones ear . If i can find somthing better im done

What was the better deal from Giffgaff to make you change?
It wasn't so much the better deal ,as the way "Three" presented an increase in price . "You will be aware that we are entitled to increase your monthly subscription my 2.7 % . we will be charging this from Apl.1st . " Similar to that anyway . It just got my back up the way they did it , plus , they were constantly mithering me with inconsequential notifications . I had been with them for many years and my contract was for a recurring monthly deal . So I just said "Not bloody likely , you're not " and asked for a migration code - and got it . I asked on here for comments - good or bad - about Giffgaff , and they were all good , so I took an £8.00 monthly contract with them - unlimited minutes , and texts , and 2 gig data . That's more than enough for me so I did that . Finish whenever with no termination penalty . Having said all that , I don't think that Giffgaff have just as good coverage as three locally , but I haven't had any problems to really worry about . It was very easy to change , and to keep my old number , and I think I was only off for a VERY short time until they changed the number over . I don't think my inability to accept calls has anything to do with them TBH. I 'm fairly sure it was after a Samsung update . I've just reset my "Call settings " to see if that helped - it didn't - back to the drawing board !

I agree wholeheartedly about bixby , but I've never had a problem with water , and I've been through the whole series of Galaxy phones , apart form breaking the screen on a Galaxy "Edge" that was going to cost plenty to replace - Samsung only - local phone people wouldn't touch it . I gave to a lad working here .

To put a solution to the query . I posted on Samsung /Android help forum , and got a speedy reply . Apparently , it's considered wise to clear the phone cache after any upgrade . long press on the phone app button , brings up a menu "clear cache " Did that and dialled myself from the landline - worked like a dream , pressed the green button , and call was accepted immediately . Result!

Where is the phone app button ?[emoji848]

Yes , I wondered that too ! It's the green button on the startup page with a white "phone" icon on it that you press to use your phone ! If you do have any problems with Samsung /Android phones that forum is very good and the "inhabitants" are really helpful .
