NSA - lynx in British countryside

Loved the bit about how lynx are only really a problem if sheep are close to a forest edge.

Where I live , there's almost 50 miles of nearly unbroken forestry plantation runs down the spine of the peninsula , and , you've guessed it , there's hill sheep graze up to the forest edge up and down the length of it.

An all you can eat buffet for the lynx? Sounds like a great idea. Especially how the lynx people admitted themselves that sheep are a much easier kill than a deer. I'd be willing to bet that 1300 years ago there would have been considerably less slow , dopey , easy to catch farmed sheep around in these days , and that your average lynx would have had to make the effort to catch a deer.

That's not the case in 2015.

I really don't see the problem. All you need to do is have a 250m exclusion zone, until that area is overgrown with scrub anyway, then another 250m....:scratchhead:

If the became extinct again, would they keep reintroducing more?

Feckin' pillocks.

That Monbiot chappie will love this. If they go ahead I will need a rifle, how about 300 win mag to take it at distance and make sure it stays down. Thought about skinning it after but doubt there would be much of skin left after hitting it with that besides couldn't wear it as hat as I am allergic to cats

You need a paragraph after the first sentence, unless of course you meant you'd shoot the real problem :ROFLMAO:

I am the same as you @CharcoalWally totally surrounded by woodland and right next to one of the alleged test release sites Grizedale Forest. Those idiots can't even control the effin Mountain Bikers they spew out everywhere.
Few years back they released about 80 Red Kites allegedly to increase tourism, they have all but disappeared as there's not enough food for them here.
These nutters are just ego maniacs sponsored by our taxes, I am totally into conservation and work closely with several conservation organisations, most are ok but there are the occasional ones who want to make a name for themselves and just done listen to reason.
You are right old Moanybottom is one of the people right behind this sort of caper. Totally deluded townies the lot of them.

What the hell are these people on, sounds like they have been to near the skunk!
Just wind up the ramblers association about how it's not safe to walk the moors anymore and let em go.
Just a thought, if they were released you can forget them letting a hunt near the moors where they are.

I said that he passionately believes he's right, you are quite within your rights to disagree. I've found him VERY fair to deal with.

"Sheep farming members have expressed concern".For Gods sake, concern is hardly the phrase, try outrage/fury/are bl***y angry. How in the name of Jeremy Clarkson are you ever going to know exactly how many sheep have been predated, sorry, eaten by the ba****ds,in an extensively farmed area anyway?Suppose it could have been a fox, badger,Sea Eagle,Golden Eagle, hoodie, wildcat.Oh no,forgot, none of them kill and eat sheep, the farm dog must be getting a bit overweight then.Earth shattering conclusion of the day,if sheep live in an area the lynx like, more of them get killed.Wow.Was that an Oxbridge or Redbrick Uni education that worked that out?
