Don't know the attendance figures but the site was a bit fragmented although that wasn't a problem in itself ---it was the lack of signs to the different marquees /barns etc
We had a busy spell for a few hours but then i think the sun/beer/icecream became a favorite for most

Met a few TFF ''lurkers'' and it was good to see a few of the old faces ---even took a few orders .
Caernarfon is a nice town & worth a visit if anyone is up that way

Roll on Northsheep ---5th June ---Frankland Farms, Rathmell, Settle, North Yorkshire, BD24 0AJ

See you there!

I really liked the site, although it was spread far, it just needed sign posting!

Was hard to know where anything was, but plenty to see at least and faces both new and old to chat to, good to see you and crew @Tim W (y)

Nice to see the new rappa and also have now confirmed the scotpen is just way too high and heavy for me  even with @neilo suggestion of just doing the sheep in heels....

I drove up in the morning, just over 6 hours with the plan to stay nearby.
My back gave in on me at around 4 and I decided to drive home

13 hours and 601 miles driving in an old Toyota hilux in one day is not very recommended... lots of coffee o_O

is there a difference between just doing the sheep in heels and doing the sheep in just heels, maybe that's what @neilo was getting at :D

I had the worst class of “butchers” lambs ever to judge there in a YFC Wales Stockman of the Year finals. 4 identical very plain ropey and under finished 50kg store lambs in a loose box with a côr where the lambs insisted on huddling whilst 15 of us tried to judge them.

I spoke to the chap at the hcc stand about what they were doing about promoting lamb and counteracting the bad press we are getting. He just told me the lamb job is not going to get any better you just have be more efficient. Its a shame he didn't have a 20% wage cut like some of us selling lambs did last week.

Maybe he didn’t get a 20% bonus last year either, like all the lamb producers that didn’t happen to have lamb to sell in the short period when price was exceptionally high?

Very true but isn't it the job of hcc to prevent such volitiliy in the market. I would have been nice if I'd met someone on the stand who was positive about Welsh lamb and could see why it deserves a premium. I didn't want someone telling me its a race to the bottom without any ideas
